The Nights

Once upon a younger year
When all our shadows disappeared
The animals inside came out to play
when face to face with all our fears
Learned our lessons through the tears
Made memories we knew would never fade

Five years ago, the Stark family had faced their worst fears.

Tony lost his kids.

Harley was alone.

Peter died without ever getting to say goodbye to his brother or friends.

When they found Tony... Harley couldn't be happier. But then he learned that Peter wasn't with him. The two were broken. Tony knew he would never make the mistake he made with Peter again. He would protect his remaining family, even if he couldn't with Peter.

And the world would remember Spider-Man. He'd make sure of it.

One day my father—he told me,
"Son, don't let it slip away"
He took me in his arms, I heard him say,
"When you get older
Your wild life will live for younger days
Think of me if ever you're afraid."

He said, "One day you'll leave this world behind
So live a life you will remember."
My father told me when I was just a child
These are the nights that never die
My father told me

Tony made Harley promise that whatever happened, he would stay the same crazy, smart, sassy person he was. Starks lives were never meant to be happy, but he didn't want Harley to end up like him. Peter always said he wanted to be like him, but Tony knew he was better. Both his kids were so much better than him. Tony made Harley promise to never end up like him.

When thunder clouds start pouring down
Light a fire they can't put out
Carve your name into those shinning stars
He said, "Go venture far beyond the shores.
Don't forsake this life of yours.
I'll guide you home no matter where you are."

He told Harley to always be the best person he could, but to take care of himself too. Something neither him or Peter did. Though, Peter wasn't as bad as Tony. Harley remembered him telling him not to waste his life. And promised him that no matter what, he would be there for him. Even if not physically. Harley made sure he would take that advice, he would never let it go and make sure to keep those promises to the best of his ability.

One day my father—he told me,
"Son, don't let it slip away."
When I was just a kid I heard him say,
"When you get older
Your wild life will live for younger days
Think of me if ever you're afraid."
He said, "One day you'll leave this world behind
So live a life you will remember."
My father told me when I was just a child
These are the nights that never die
My father told me
These are the nights that never die
My father told me

When he adopted Morgan, he told her the same thing. He made sure she knew who Peter was and that he was a hero. He was happy to answer any of her questions about him. He'd do anything to keep that kids memory alive.

And when he learned he could bring him back, no matter the cost...

Of course he took that chance.

Of course he sacrificed himself for the sake of his family and everyone else in the world.

Earth was better off without him anyway.

Especially if that meant they could have their other heroes back.

(No idea what this is but I love the song so)
