"No amount of anxiety can change the future. No amount of regret can change the past."

It had been a few days since Anne had walked out of class. School felt kinda weird without her. It was... quiet. You normally liked the quiet, but this was more of an uncomfortable silence.

You sighed, breathing in the cool autumn air. You thought to yourself, 'how am I going to tell the girls that interacting with Gilbert was an accident?' In your defence, he was hurt and you are a very caring, nurturing person.

You got shaken out of your thoughts when you bumped into a very very familiar back (Gilberts back, incase you forgot).

"(Y/N), we've got to stop meeting like this," You heard a light laugh come out of the boy's mouth, "do you mind if I walk with you?" He asked you a bit tentatively.

You giggled and thought to yourself for a second. You might as well just let him walk with you, I mean, what's the worst that could happen? Josie Pye starts to make your life a living hell? Oh well. Sucks to be you I guess.

You looked up to his face, gave him a small, almost invisible smile and said, "I don't mind Gilbert, you could walk with me."

You knew you were going to regret this later, but you didn't wanna think about what Josie Pye or Ruby Gillis would do to you.

You and Gilbert were walking side by side, talking about books you've read, cool birds you've seen. It was nice, that was until you couldn't breathe.

        It happened so suddenly.

You were having a panic attack, and you were terrible at controlling them.

'Oh no. No no no no no. This can't be happening right now. Not infront of  Gilbert. Please.'

You stopped walking. You couldn't move. It only made you feel sick to your stomach. You couldn't speak, you couldn't breathe, you couldn't do anything! Only stare at the ground. You were clenching your teeth so hard, you thought you were going to break them.

Gilbert seemed to notice you stopped walking, and he turned around to you. He noticed you looked distressed, so he asked you, "Hey, what's wrong. Are you okay?"
