ONE STEP CLOSER

Can sat his children down and explained what was going on. He refused to lie to any of them. He told there was a bad man after their mother, and he had to take precautions to protect her and them. He told them for the time being Cinar and Yalin would be driving them to and from school. Omer would be with him and Sanem during the day and he would be staying here in the house at night. Can told his children he did not want them to worry. They would be protected at all times. Deniz ran over and hugged her mom. She told her mom she didn't want anything to happen to her. Yildiz and Ates followed suit, also hugging their mom. Sanem told her children she would be fine. Their dad and Omer would make sure of it. Deniz walked over to Omer and asked him to please take care of her mommy. Omer smiled and grabbed Deniz's hand. He promised her he would keep her mommy safe. Deniz told him thank you and hugged Omer. Omer was shocked. He was not use to being hugged. He slowly hugged her back.

Sanem told everyone she would start dinner and then it was off to karate lessons for her babies. Can went into the kitchen to help Sanem with dinner. He saw the tremble in her hands. He hugged her from behind. He told her he loved her and that everything would be fine. Soon, dinner was on the table and everyone sat down. Sanem had sat a place for Omer and she went to get him. Omer told Sanem dinner was not in the contract. Sanem told him if he was in her house, then dinner was in the contract. Omer smiled and said thank you. He got up and joined the family for dinner. Omer ate with gusto. He told Sanem it had been a while since he had a home cooked meal. He thanked her for her hospitality. Can and Sanem cleaned up the kitchen while the kids got dressed for their karate class.

Soon they were on their way to Omer's karate class. Can, Sanem and Omer sat and watched the kids with their lesson. It was only the second class but Can and Sanem noticed how the kids paid close attention to Omer, their teacher. When class was over, Can introduced his friend Omer, the karate instructor to their friend Omer, who was staying with them for a while. Can rounded up the kids and headed home. Once home, the kids got ready for their baths. Sanem went to get a cup of tea. She sat in the living area enjoying her tea. Omer was walking around outside the house checking things out. Can was tucking the kids in bed for the night. Sanem laid back on the couch with her feet on the coffee table. Her back was killing her, and her feet were aching. This pregnancy was beginning to take its toll on her. Can came in and sat down beside her. He threw his arm around her and asked if everything was alright. Sanem told him her back hurt and her feet ached. Can pulled her feet into his lap and began rubbing them. Sanem moaned and told him that felt great. He massaged her feet up to her ankle while Sanem smiled and moaned. She told her husband he had magic hands. Can laughed.

Soon, Omer re-entered the house. He told Can everything was all clear outside. Omer went through the house making sure doors and windows were locked. He set the alarm code and made sure all cameras were on and recording. Sanem and Can were turning in for the night. Sanem told Omer to make himself at home. Omer thanked her. They entered their bedroom and shut the door. Sanem changed into her pajamas and Can put on a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. They climbed into bed and Can pulled her into his arms. They fell asleep holding each other.

Omer sat in the living area in the dark. He told himself he would protect this family with his life if necessary. He walked through the house looking out the windows. He noticed a car pull up along the road in front of the house. The car turned off its lights and just sat there. Omer texted Mr. Necmi to let him know they had movement on the street in front of the house. Mr. Necmi texted roger that. Within minutes, 2 more cars pulled up. Attempting to block in the car already sitting there. The car sped out before he could be blocked in. The other 2 cars gave chase. They eventually lost him, and the 2 cars headed back to the Divit house. Omer met them outside. It was Cinar and Yalin, the kids' bodyguards. They told Omer the car got away. Omer was furious. He said dammit, we had him right there. Cinar told him to calm down. They would catch him. He will slip up and it will be his downfall. Omer asked if they got a plate number. Yalin said yes and they already traced it. It was Hakan. Omer was streaming.

The next morning when Can woke up, Omer asked to speak with him outside. He informed Can of what happened last night, and the plates were traced back to Hakan. Can said he was going to kill him. Omer told Can not if he got to him first. Can shook his hand and thanked him. Sanem was up making breakfast and the kids were getting dressed when Can entered the house. Sanem asked if everything was OK. Can kissed her and said everything was fine. Once the kids ate their breakfast, Cinar and Yalin drove them to school. Dhyana was waiting for Deniz when the kids arrived at school. They walked to their first class together. Jasmine was also in their class. She shot daggers at Deniz when she walked into class. Deniz just ignored her. When class was over, Dhyana and Deniz got up to leave. Jasmine stuck out her foot and tripped Deniz. Deniz fell to the floor. Jasmine and her friends laughed at Deniz, who had tears in her eyes. Dhyana glared at Jasmine and helped Deniz up. Dhyana whispered to Jasmine that she had been warned to leave Deniz alone. Jasmine told her she wasn't scared of her. Dhyana smiled and told her she should be....she really should be. Jasmine and her friends left the room. Dhyana asked if Deniz if she was OK. Deniz said she was fine.

At the agency, another gift awaited Sanem upon her arrival to their office. It was a big box of chocolates. She read the card and started trembling. Omer took the card and it read You will be mine sooner than you think, my love. Omer went to check the video surveillance. Once again it was Hakan. He looked straight at the camera when he exited the office. Omer called Mr. Necmi and updated him. Mr. Necmi said he would have a security guard on the agency premises at night and into the morning. He wanted Can and Sanem's office door locked when they left from now on. Omer said roger that. Omer went to let Can know what was going to happen. Can was fine with it. He told Omer to do whatever needed done to protect his family. Omer nodded.

Can found his wife curled into a ball on the couch in their office. He asked if she was OK. Sanem told him no she wasn't. She told her husband she could take this anymore. She wanted her life back. She was tired of being scared. She was tired of looking over her shoulder. She was tired of dealing with psychotic men. By this time, tears were rolling down her cheeks. Can wiped her tears away and kissed her. He promised her they would stop this freak. Sanem asked when? She was going crazy just waiting. Omer heard everything outside the office door. He clenched his fist. He was going to catch this bastard, very soon, and it would regret messing with this family.
