Chapter 4 - She's My Angel

Natsu's POV

'Is that scary red-haired lady gone?' I wondered as I trembled under the bed. I built up some courage and slowly crawled up to the entrance for a peek. To my right, I spotted the red-haired lady sitting at the table with a teacup in her hand. Luckily, she seems to have calmed down so I'm sure I won't die today. Across the room, I saw the stupid raven-haired stripper relaxing on couch talking to the flying blue cat. I glared at the stripper, something inside me is telling me to hate him. To my left, I saw my owner Lucy sitting at a desk writing something.

My stomach rumbled so I walked out from underneath the bed and up to Lucy. I sat by her feet and barked as I pawed at her feet. She pulled her chair back and looked down at me. "Are you hungry Natsu?" she asked and I barked. She stood up from her chair and I followed her towards the kitchen. I watched eagerly as she grabbed a piece of red meat and walked over to the stove. From her feet, I waited eagerly for my dinner with my tail wagging happily.

"Erza?" Lucy called out to the lounge room, "yes Lucy?" I heard Erza reply. "Tomorrow we need to buy some dog bowls and toys for Natsu" Lucy said. "Can we get him a dog house too? Flame Brain in the dog house" I heard the Stripper laugh and I growled at the room he was in. I felt a hand pet my head and I looked up at Lucy, who was smiling down at me. She turned her head towards the door and said "we're not buying a dog house for Natsu." She's my angel. "Too bad" I heard Stripper reply but I ignored him because Lucy was dishing up my food on a plate.

I backed up a bit as she placed the plate in front of me. The smell was so intoxicating and I happily dug into my meal. As soon as I finished, I looked up at Lucy and barked, asking more. I saw her sweet smile as she kneeled down to replace my plate with another full of food. She knows me so well! I barked in thanks and began eating my seconds.

After eating five plates of Lucy's delicious cooking, I walked into the loungeroom and rolled over on my back with my full round belly in the air. I know my belly will go back to normal soon. Lucy walked back into the room since she finished washing the dishes. I wagged my tail as soon as I saw her and wagged my tail faster as she scratched my belly before walking towards the bathroom.

"Thanks for the meal Lucy" Erza said, "yeah thanks Lucy" the Stripper and the flying blue cat added. "You're welcome. Now if you'll excuse me, I need a nice long bath" Lucy replied as she walked into the bathroom. I rolled back onto my feet and ran to the door as she clicked it shut. I whined and scratched the door. She didn't open the door so I sat down waiting for her to come back out.

"Ash-for-Brains has been following Lucy around like a lost puppy, don't you think?" I heard the Stripper say. I growled at the nickname he gave me and ran at him, barking. He didn't have any clothes on besides his boxers so I could bite onto anything except his bare feet. "What are you going to do Pinky?" he taunted. I quickly nipped his foot before backing up and laying down. He yelped in pain as he lifted his foot up. I stood back up and nipped his other foot before laying back down. He yelped in pain again before he lifted both of his feet onto the chair out of my reach. "Try biting me now Flame Brain" he taunted as I try jumping up, barking at him.

"Leave him be Gray" Erza said to the Stripper. "He's the one biting me" Gray complained, "but you're the one provoking him" the flying blue cat said. "Shut up Happy!" Gray shouted and glared at him. Suddenly I heard the bathroom door opening and ran towards it. Lucy came out fully dressed in her pajamas and drying her hair with a towel. I ran around her as she walked towards her bed and sat down.

I sat in front of her feet I whined as I pawed her leg, asking for her to pick me up. She smiled down at me as she picked me up and placed me on her lap. I did a quick turn before I laid down comfortably on her lap. "Erza do you want to go next?" Lucy asked as she pet me. "I think I will thank you" Erza replied. "Did you forget that we don't have any pajamas because a certain puppy made us run all the way in fear of Gramps' wrath?" Gray said as he glared at me.

I glared back at him as Erza spoke. "I can requip into my pajamas. How about you run over to your place, pack some clothes and then come back here" Erza suggested. "Are you sure? What if that dark guild tries to kidnap Lucy while I'm gone?" Gray asked. What?! A dark guild is trying to kidnap my Lucy! I won't let them. I growled at the thought of them kidnapping Lucy. Lucy stroked my back to calm me down which it did.

"I'm sure we can handle ourselves until you return" she said. "Alright, I'll get back as soon as I can" Gray replied as he stood up and walked to the door. 'And stay out!' I barked as he shut the door. "Shout if you need me Lucy" Erza said as she walked into the bathroom.

Since I know a dark guild is after my Lucy, I decided to appoint myself as her personal bodyguard. Where I would stay by her side and protect her. I jumped off her lap and ran to the window. I used Lucy's pillow as a step so I could jump onto the windowsill. "Natsu, what are you doing?!" I heard Lucy exclaim worriedly but I just sat down on the windowsill looking out for any potential attackers. "It looks like he's guarding the house Lucy" I heard Happy say. "I'm worried he might fall" I heard Lucy reply. "Leave him be, if he falls I'll catch him" I heard Happy say.

By the time Erza was finished with her bath, I saw Gray walking towards the apartment with a bag over his shoulder. 'I told you to stay out!' I barked at him and he glared at me. "Natsu, what are you barking at?" I heard Lucy asked before she peeked her head out the window. "Oh you're back Gray, come on in" she said, 'don't let him in' I barked but she ignored me and pulled me back onto the bed.

She let out a big yawn and tucked herself into her bed as Gray came through the door. "I don't know about you guys but I'm going to bed" she said. I climbed onto her pillow beside her head and licked her cheek saying 'goodnight' before curling up on the pillow. "Goodnight Natsu" I heard Lucy say before I fell asleep.
