Chapter 4

Bella all but ran out of the school as the bell rang ending the last class of the day. She was sure she could hear someone say 'where is the fire?' as she passed a group of football players. She all but tackled Damon in the parking lot trying to get to her car. 

"whoa hey, where are you going in such a hurry" Damon asked stopping her from falling by grabbing her arm. 

"Damon!' She practically whined. "I'm hungry" She said looking up at him with pleading eyes hoping he'd let her go.

"Great, I'm headed to the grill as soon as I pick up Elena and my annoying brother we can all car pool" Damon said flippantly. Bella internally cursed to her self. 

"oh great" Bella grumbled to her self. 

Damon gave her a questioning look. "what?" he questioned. 

"Malibu barbie isn't coming too is she?" Bella asked looking at him desperate for him to say no. Damon only scoffed. 

"No" He said with an amused look in his eyes but a scowl on his face. Bella looked relieved at his answer and relaxed a little. 

"Fine, but i have to got to the store and be home by 6:30" Bella explained. 

"got plans?" Damon questioned looking over at her with a curious glint in his eyes. 

"yes as a matter of fact i do" Bella replied as Elena and Stephan walked up to them. 

"I don't like it when you have plans" Damon said as he looked to be remembering something. 

"I am allowed to have plans on my birthday" Bella said with a scowl.

"It's your birthday" Damon asked looking at her a little surprised. 

"yeah, the same day as last year, funny how that works isn't it"  Bella replied giving him a small glare. 

"Im sorry" Damon said giving her an apologetic look.

"oh, Damon apologizing, what did hell freeze over?" Stephan questioned. Bella scoffed a little. 

"she would know" Damon replied pointing at Bella. 

"Is she coming with us to the grill?" Elena asked. 

"Unfortunately, my brother obviously doesn't believe me when i say I'm going to go eat" Bella replied glaring at Damon. 

"Brother?" Elena asked looking surprised.

"that's...not possible, we don't have a sister" Stephan said looking very confused. 

"Don't feel too bad baby brother, She don't claim you either" Damon said with a smirk. 

"well, to be fair, i was busy not knowing that you existed. In any case, explaining it is too complicated" Bella added. 

"Hey rick!" damon called as he spotted him. Klaus turned and looked over at them. he then began walking over to the group. Bella tensed up a little. "we're headed to the grill, want a drink?" He asked. 

"ah, I would love one. or a couple" Klaus replied as he watched Bella with an amused look. 

"well if you two are done staring each other down, lets go" Elena said as she started walking over to her car. "oh, Happy birthday Bella" Elena added as he turned to look over at her. 

"oh, uh...thanks" Bella said trailing off a bit. 

"wait, someone needs to go with her" Damon said pointing to Bella. "Make sure she actually goes to the grill" he explained. 

Bella turned her glare to Damon. "god Damon a little trust would be appreciated" She snapped as she reached out grabbing hold of Klaus's unconsciously and pulled him away and over to her car. 

"well that was interesting" Klaus commented smirking in amusement. 

"He is so frustrating!" Bella growled as she got into the drivers seat and Klaus got into the passengers side. 

 "I hope you are ready for the rumors to start flying" Klaus added as Bella started the car. Bella looked out the window and saw people were staring in their direction. Bella growled. 

"Fuck them" She grumbled and sped out of the parking lot. Her tires shrieking loudly as they spun on the pavement. out of the side of her eye she saw one of the foot ball players covering his ears tightly acting as if he was in pain. 

She couldn't help but feel a little smug seeing his pain. 

"what has you so riled up?" Klaus questioned. 

"Damon is a jerk." Bella replied flipping her hair behind her. She looked over at him. "you do realize that if i make friends with this people and then i give up her aunt...i wont ever be able to show my self in mystic falls ever again" she said with a slightly worried look. Klaus looked over at her.

"are you trying to say you want to back out?" Klaus questioned looking amused. A shiver rushed down her back. 

"n-no" Bella stammered and looked away. *i shouldn't have said anything* she thought to her self miserably. 

She pulled up to the grill and killed the engine. She pushed the door open and got out of the car as did Klaus. 

Bella looked around and saw Damon pull up and park with Stephan and Elena.
