chapter 5

Bella walked in to the grill with the group and over to a seat. It didn't take them too long to get situated at a table.

Bella looked around the place checking out everything and everyone that was in the building.

"Alright birthday girl what do you want?" Damon questions as he looked over at her.

"Something good" she replied.

"Ah well the fried chicken is pretty good" Damon said.

Bella bites her lip a little nervous. "Um alright I'll try that" she said.

"I think I'll have that too" Klaus added in.

"I'm just going to have a burger and fries" Elena said glancing around the room with a nervous look.

'is something wrong?" Bella questioned looking at her puzzled by her nervousness.

"Oh you know. Murderous raving lunatic wants to drain her of her blood. Nothing unusual" Damon commented.

Bella and Klaus share a glance at his words. Bella looked over at Elena.

"I'm sorry" she said lamely.

"Ah, yeah...let's not get into that" Elena said trying to change the subject.

Bella pushed the menu to the side "maybe we should talk about it" she said watching Elena with a worried look. "I mean..I there something I can do? Who is it?" She asked.

Damon looked around. "Remember my buddy over here ask about a guy named Klaus?" Damon asked.

"Uh yeah. I remember. Is that who's?" Bella sat up straight and leaned forward interested.

"You don't happen to know anything about him do you?" Stephan questioned.

Bella shook her head a little. "No, I don't think so. I know someone named Klaus but...I doubt he is the one you are talking about" Bella said looking as if she was in thought.

"Well from what we know he is...and original" Klaus spoke up acting as if he knew nothing.

Bella looked over at him thoughtfully. "Hm..I think I do know an original. His name is Elijah though." Bella explained.

"That's Klaus's brother!" Elena commented on surprise.

"Oh?" Bella questions looking at him with a fake interest, however gets distracted seeing someone walk by and stares with a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"You know...I might just know something about this klaus after all" bella looks at damon. "I want that one" she smirks slyly.

"Wait what?" Elena asked alarmed.

"One jock coming right up" damon says automatically.

"Damon!" Elena says alarmed grabbing hold of his arm.

"We need that information" damon says getting up.

"Not if someone is going to die" elena snapped as damon walked away.

"Oh honey. I'm not going to kill him" bella says with a laugh. Elena seems to relax a little. "I'm going to slowly and painfully make him pay for every sin that he has committed" bella says with a smirk. "After that I will send his soul to hell where he belongs" she added and smirked watching the blood drain from Elena's face.

"Its my job" bella says as though it is normal. "You see. My uncle kinda owns hell and I'm his bounty hunter" she explained. "That guy, well he is on my list"

"And klaus is not on that list?" Stefan questioned.

"Oh no, not that I have seen" bella replied as Damon walked back over with a smirk.

"You were saying?" damon asked.

"Klaus...him well for one he is protected by many. Unless he wants to be found you wont find him. There is only one way he can be killed, and that's me" bella explained as she glances at klaus who looked as equally surprised as the rest of them.

"Great" damon says."so during the ritual we will have you come in and of him" he says as though it was nothing.

Bella scoffed. "You've been talking to Elijah haven't you" she said rolling her eyes. And no I wont" bella added much to their surprise.

"And why not?" Stefan questioned.

"Do you realize what hes been doing. What he is going to do" elena asked.

"I am well aware" bella replied. "However, I will not be the reason my brother dies. Klaus is not on must because my mother and I made a deal with my uncle for klaus to be kept off permanently" bella explained. "As for your issue with Elena. If he wants to make hybrids then he will not kill you. He needs your blood for them to finish the transition" bella finished just as food was brought to them.

"Well that's comforting" elena muttered.

"It should be" bella says taking a bite of her food. "You see, in order for you to be kept off my list, you need to be useful. And you are useful to klaus...at least your blood is."

"You seem to know a lot about klaus, you're working for him arent you?"stefan says.

Bella smirked. "Damon you'd best be careful. He keeps making these accusations about me. I might just have to get father involved" she says.

"Ignore him" damon says sending him a look. "Alright. Let's take a different approach to this. We need you on our side. We need to do something about klaus before any more people have to die" damon explained.

"No one has to die. All you have to do is not get in his way" bella says with a shrug, but..." bella watches him closely. "I may be willing to play ball" she added.
