It was their ritual to order Green Thai curry, every Tuesday night
They'd eat it by sea, to watch the horizon kiss away the Sunlight
When the stars began to twinkle, their Love would also kindle
And you'd hope no one stumbled upon the couple in the moonlight
Cuddling, with her forehead pressed against his stubbly cheekbone
While he habitually hummed the latest hit from Post-Malone
They dreamt of wild adventures and their Love's endless pleasures
And she took comfort in the familiarity, and the smell of his cologne
Dawn chased the intimate nights; adding haste to the timeless romance
Troubles and tragedies tired them out; forced them into a mundane trance
She became a narcissist while his negligence at work got him dismissed
High on pride, low on money, they ended up in a ceaseless war-dance
When she left, he didn't beg her to stay. He knew she would come home
But days turned into weeks, weeks into months, and he remained alone
The aching turned to numbness; the tears started drying on their own
He saw her once; Her ring finger was decorated with a diamond stone.
She fought hard to retain her composure; that day when it all blew up
But rumors of his new girlfriend reached her soon after their breakup
And though it broke her heart, she knew it meant they must be through
She found another man; her fiancé, who on Tuesdays cooked beef stew
The night before Her wedding, she went for a quiet walk along the sea
She found Him there, a familiar stranger humming Blame it on Me
He cried,
I wish we could go back to eating Green Thai Curry on Tuesday nights,
And making love under the stars while thinking the future is bright
Because even though you made me angry, you made me feel alive
And now I must live, knowing I've forever lost the Love of my life
