Dear Edith,
We met up at the coffee shop today. You told me about the poems you're studying with your year 11 class. I think that's the equivalent of a fifth year, but I didn't want to ask. I'd rather dash my brains out onto the pavement than have you thinking I'm an idiot, or something.
You make me feel so nervous. In a good way of course. I rejoice that I'm beginning to feel things properly again; I was beginning to grow so sick of simply feeling numb.
But moving on, I found out a lot more about you during our outing, it was nice to just sit back and listen to you babble on about this and that. Your favourite poem is called Winter Swans. It's by Owen Sheers. I've never heard of it, but I'll read it before our next meeting. I still can't believe you asked to see me again. I know our weekly meetings aren't dates, but whatever they are, they're certainly helping me through the past few months of unhappiness.
