One Last Push

~Time skip: 1 week~

Itome looked at the clock on the wall. Only an hour before the stupid competition started. He sighed, unbelieving that it was actually going to happen. How did it even get to this point?

[Flashback]

Itome entered his classroom and saw Akemi and Itsuki sitting at his desk covered in gifts. He didn't know what was going on and he was certain he didn't want to.

"Itome, I happened to overhear some of the underclassmen on my way to home room and Itsuki seemed to have heard the same thing. It seems like a certain underclassman and Yuri are going to be competing for the right to date you." Akemi said with a disappointed look. "Yuri was roped into it as they threatened to kill his pet turtle."

"And these gifts... They're all from a bunch of your admirers, most from that underclassman. I'm guessing it's to win you over." said Itsuki with a disgusted look.

"So what I'm gathering is, you want me to do something about it?" Itome asked with a sigh.

"Mostly because it's such a stupid thing, but because you care about Yuri just as much as we do and fear he might get seriously injured if things are rigged." Akemi said. "They'd probably listen to you more than anyone."

Itome rubbed his temples in frustration. He probably brought it upon himself for always being a yes man instead of drawing lines when needed. Now the person he really cared for could end up in the infirmary if things got out of hand.

"When it is?" Itome asked.

"Today after school. I heard it was originally supposed to be during lunch but..." Itsuki said.

[End Flashback]

Not much time had passed since he last checked the time. He wasn't one to text during class, but he couldn't wait that long. They could sneak out of class early and rigged whatever the competition was.
