I was sat on the couch with Tristan, focusing on the television screen in front of us. I could feel the leather beneath me and smell the scent of sweet popcorn. I looked at Tristan; his face illuminated by the lamp beside him. I turned my head back to the TV screen as I heard a tinkle of chimes from outside. Thinking it was nothing I carried on watching the television. “Kaylee…” Tristan whispered in my ear. His warm breath making me shiver. I turned and followed Tristan’s gaze. I gasped. He quickly shushed me and put his fingers to my lips. My eyes were wide with fear. He put his arms around me as I took the invite for comfort. I rested my head on his chest and shut my eyes tight. I wanted this to be a dream. I really di

d, but nothing was changing. It was still there. I turned slowly, sliding myself out of Tristan’s grip to get a better look. They were the same glowing orbs as last time. It had been six years since we saw them the first time on my seventh birthday. I glanced up and saw terror dancing in Tristan’s eyes. I stepped forward, one step at a time, until I was a couple steps away from the orbs. “WHAT ARE YOU?” I screamed. “Get out of my house!” I knew that it was a bad idea as soon as I screamed it. I jumped away from the orbs back to the terror struck Tristan. The orbs glowed brighter and shimmered like fairy lights. They started to expand, growing in size, until I could see three human like figures standing where the three glowing orbs were minutes earlier. Then darkness crept through my eyes, blocking sight with black. Voices echoed until the last sound wave left my head and everything went silent.
