Chapter 33: Unfortunate Fates

Aurora had explained everything to her robo-self, from her mom's death, to traveling to the Sol Dimension, to getting together with Shadow. They both sighed with dreaminess. "He's so dreamy!" they both said at the same time, holding each other's hands, and leaning on each other's cheeks. To add to that, Robo Aurora squealed.

   As she talked, Ember reunited with his uncle Barker, who at first seemed to hug each other and pat each other's backs. Like how men would do it. But then he presented him with a form, saying, "You owe me debt, Ember." "Really, Uncle Barker? I come back from the Special Zone, then you give me a bill?" the wolf asked in a snarky voice. Bolts stretched his arm to Barker, and plucked out a piece of fur from his head. "Ow!" 

   Shard started to snicker at him. Both the Auroras looked at each other, then at Sora and the two Tails' and two Sticks'. They all secretly signaled Mighton to the meerkat. He nodded, and signaled Bolts, who slapped the girl in the back of the head, and plucked out a piece of her hair. She scowled at everybody, and pulled out her sword. 

   "Yep." T.W Barker continued as if nothing had happened. "Or I can just simply take that lovely little trinket that Pink Girl is holding, and I'll not offer you any more deals for an entire month." 

   "Like he'll ever give you anything!" Aurora raised her hammer at the snobby uncle, ready to clobber him any way she wanted. She growled and swung it at him. But lucky for him he dodged quickly enough for her to miss and smash the ground. 

   She felt herself being pulled back. "Calm down, Woman! He's just being the stubborn uncle he is!" she heard Ember say. The rest of those around her agreed. She saw Barker tremble as he started to skedaddle away. "Never mind, Nephew! I'll let this one slide! Just keep Pink Nutjob Jr. away from me!"

   By the next moment he and his old red circus suit were gone. Aurora took some time to calm down, and everyone let go of her arms. "Junior?" Shard repeated. "Yeah, my mom was called that. I'll wear that name proudly." Aurora replied, placing her free hand on her hip and her hammer's head on the ground.

   She spotted her dad's last trace, with Spur Sleek (who was really the queen herself) following him like everybody else. The pink hedgehog held her breath, and wondered what else she could be planning. With Sonic the Hedgehog? After he was injured? 

   What made her stop was when TW Barker came back into view, calling out, "By the way, I'll be back..." 

   Aurora's eyes still lay locked onto him like some death robot, raising her hammer again. He stammered to continue, sweating really hard, "...F-for d-d-dinner...t-t—tomorrow night. Save some seats for me and the stunt bears, would you, dear nephew?" 

   Ember groaned, and replied, "Yes, Uncle Barker." 

   Both Tails', both Sticks', Cyborg Aurora, Mighton, and Bolts stepped back and all asked exaggeratedly, "He's your uncle?!" 

   Ember dipped his head in embarrassment, and rubbed his head, while saying in a tone, "One and only remaining."

   "Look, we still have a lot on our plates! Mini Rouge, Firestreak, Pink girl and I have to go to the Abandoned Research Facility, fast!" Shard interrupted, stopping everyone. 

   "And what makes you think that we'll go with you? After all you put us through?" Aurora tested her with a glare. 

   "After you cursed me with this scar on my eye, trapped me in the Special Zone, and on top of that nearly killed me!?" Ember added, his boots firing up even brighter as his fists had started to glow more aflame. 

   "After you helped Infinite nearly kill my best friend and brother!?" Uncle Tails added, bringing out his wrench. 

   Shard just dully stared at everyone, while putting her sword pack in its scabbard, which was also her over dipped right pocket in her tank top. "Didn't I mention that I'm on my own side? I'm not exactly on my father's side. Or yours. I just do what I do."
