Chapter 37: Cold Turn

"We hereby dub thee Nur, 'sultana' of the Arabian Nights!" the officiator named Sinbad (who was another version of Knuckles) announced. Setting the crown on the former princess' (who was another version of Aurora) head. "May the stories carry you and your future children on!" 

   Everybody cheered, chanted, and clapped at this wonderful occasion. I'll start calling it code CCCC (Cheering, chanting, and clapping ceremony). 

   Shadow's heart wouldn't stop pounding as he looked at the very appearance of Aura. She wore a long green fitting dress that had a green and pink flowered top with flowing see-through sleeves, brown belt, sandals, and her new crown was full of gems. 

   Majestic, Shadow thought, letting out a light blush. Why didn't she dress up like this before? But he had to refocus himself. Ember, Qadr, and Frost were out getting back the world rings that the king took from them. Aster was out spying on a guy named Menace. An advisor who knew the Erazor Djinn before the he was banished in his own lamp. 

    Apparently, Menace had something peculiar in his pocket that might've been one or two world rings. But one thing questioned Shadow, Why does Shiba think they're dangerous? He gave you a mission, and you will not stop until you complete it. Maria...Rouge...Aurora.   

   Nur had promised Shadow a so-called "jewel of unspeakable power" that her father had kept for over two decades. If he played his violin for her coronation. It was obviously a chaos emerald she was talking about. Silver must've given it to him before he settled things with the fire queen.

   This wasn't the Aura he knew and cared about, but Shadow had still fallen for the sovereign's similarities to his girlfriend. Her smile, and glowing kindness. So he agreed to play for her. She mistaken him for another Shadow, so he wished to Shiba that she'd grant him all-knowing knowledge of the violin, for 24 hours. 

   Now he was here, alongside his accidentally chosen genie of the ring, different versions of Blaze and Silver, and a strange sprite called Omochao (who talked way too much). Ready to play something at the top of his head. 

   What stopped him was the sight of Cream (different version). Aura had told me that her best friend had passed on. But I've met this girl before, how I have been so low-minded?

   Shadow looked at the newly crowned queen Nur, and when she looked at him she blew him a kiss. Sitting on the throne, with her father standing beside her. Waiting for the performance to start.

Aurora and her group made it to Blitz' location. Thanks to Itzy's scouting abilities. They found the young squirt pretty fast. She was holding an unconscious Rouge in her arms, along with the white chaos emerald that she took earlier. 

   "Well, kid." Sonic said in a half-happy tone. "I guess you got her first." Itzy squeaked in agreement, crossing his arms. "You said it, Itzy." Aurora agreed with the sprite. 

   "I don't care what you slowpokes say." Blitz rolled her eyes, tossing Rouge for Sonic to catch. Which he did, catching her bridal style. 

   I can't wait to tell Shadow when I see him again! After I shower that hedgie with a bunch of kisses. I wonder how Ember's fairing. Is he still alive?

   "We got the girl, now it's time to go-" Blitz got interrupted with a sudden earthquake. Aurora looked down to see a vibrating tuning fork. She gasped and looked up to see Shard floating about. Eyes more slit, Phantom Ruby in place. Looking more angry than before.
