the next day

HOPE'S POV

We were laying in Landon's bed when I heard the doorbell ring.
"Landon," I said. "Do I need to go get the door?" I asked.
"No I got it." He said smiling.
"Ok." I said.
He walked downstairs and I followed.
"Is she here?" I heard someone ask. But I didn't need to see who it was. Max.

LANDON'S POV

"Who?" I asked as Max stared at me.
"Hope." He said.
"No I haven't seen her since the dance." I said trying to play it cool.
"Ok." He said walking away.
I was glad Hope didn't get the door. But I knew she was scared so I ran upstairs to find her.
"Hope." I said a little over my normal voice.
"I'm in the bathroom." She said.

10 minutes later

LANDON'S POV

"You're ok." I said as Hope laid on my chest. She was crying a little.
"Thank you," She said. "For not telling Max I was here."
"Of course, but you don't need to thank me." I told her.
She fell asleep about 15 minutes later, but I stayed up to make sure she was safe
