I stand in the mirror, straightening my ponytail for the last time, smoothing it out making sure it is perfect.
"Hurry up Olivia we are going to be late" my mum shouts from the bottom of the stairs
I take one last deep breath, attempting to calm my nerves, and run down the stairs with my bag.
Today is the final of the dance competition me and my dance group are in, we have been wanting this for ages and rehearsing our final performance for months, it needs to be perfect.
If you land a spot in the top three you win a cash prize but first place also wins you a studio for your group to practice and teach dance classes at. We have to perform in front of a panel of dance professionals and a mystery celebrity guest
"How you feeling?" My mum asked me,
"So scared and nervous" I answered, shaking.
She grabbed my cheeks stroking them with tears in her eyes.
"You and the other girls have been working so hard for this for so many years, show them judges how amazing you all are and how much you want this, I am so proud of you and I love you so much"
"Stop" I say, tears forming in my eyes "You are going to make me smudge my makeup"
She laughs, hugging me tight; "Right lets get going" she says while grabbing the car keys and walking outside.
We get in the car, and start our journey to the venue.
