Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-Rahim.
In the Name of Allâh, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. All the praises and thanks be to Allâh, the Lord of the 'Alamîn . The Only Owner of the Day of Recompense. You (Alone) we worship, and You (Alone) we ask for help. Guide us to the Straight Way. The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace , not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger, nor of those who went astray .
____________60: (Al-Mumtahanah)- She who is tested
(The Woman to be Examined)Section (juz') 28Number of Verses: 13
Sūra al-Mumtaḥana (Arabic:سورة الممتحنة) is sixtieth sura of the quran. It is a madani sura located in juz twenty eight. This sura is called "al-mumtahana" because in verse ten of this sura, the prophet (s) is ordered to test immigrant women to find about their motives for leaving their husbands and immigrating from mecca to medina.
Sura al-Mumtahana speaks about the friendship of believerswith disbelievers and seriously prohibits it. About the merits of recitation of this sura, it is narrated from the Prophet (s) that whoever recites this sura, angels send salutations to him and ask God to forgive him; and if he dies on that day, he has died a martyr and believers will intercede for him on the day of judgement.
The Chapter, revealed in Mecca, has thirteen Verses and owes its designation to the tenth Verse treating of the examination of Emigrant women. The blessed Chapter treats of love for God Almighty and forbidding believers from befriending His enemies. Muslims are also enjoined to regard Prophet Abraham (as) as a model.
Nine blessed Qur'anic Chapters, namely 9, 33, 47, 60, 63, 70, 98, 109, and 111, from amongst one hundred and fourteen Chapters, open with the recognition of enemies. Such Qur'anic Verses exceed those of revealed prescripts (ayat al-ahkam).
The Qur'anic instances of the words
dhull ("error"),kufr ("disbelief"),nifaq ("hypocrite"),
and
sadd ("aversion")
are attested 191, 521, 37, and 45 times respectively.
According to a Prophetic tradition, whoever recites Surah al-Mumtahana, all believing men and women will intercede on his behalf on the Day of Resurrection.
Other traditions have been narrated on the merits of the recitation of the Chapter; however, such merits fall into the share of those who attend to the blessed Verses of the Chapter in question for the sake of liking, disliking, and waging jihad and application of their contextual meaning in Allah's Cause rather than being content with the passive recitation of the same.

Benefits
This Surah was revealed in Makkah and it has 13 verses. It is narrated from Imam Ali Zainul Abideen (a.s.) that if a person recites this Surah in any of his prayers (salaat), his heart will become filled with faith and belief. On the Day of Judgement, all the believing men and women will pray for him to be forgiven by Allah (S.w.T.).
Recitation of this Surah increases the acuity of vision and protects the reciter and his children from insanity. The Holy Prophet (S) has said that angels send salutations and pray for the forgiveness of the one who recites this Surah. If he dies on that day then he will have died as a martyr. Drinking water in which this Surah has been dissolved also acts as a cure for some ailments.
