Annabelle's POV:
I awoke to find Jareth sitting next to the bed reading through a pile of documents. He noticed very quickly that I was awake and put down the documents onto the bedside table. "Ahh you're awake, how did you sleep? Any pain?" He asked. "There's no pain and I slept better than I have done in the last two years, I hope I didn't disturb your work?" I replied. "No you didn't disturb me, I'm glad you slept well. I was just reading these until you woke up, I'll send for some food for you, you must be hungry" he said. I nodded, "thank you, yes I am hungry," I said. He smiled before getting up and going to the door and calling for a goblin to get food for us.
He returned and sat down again, "I'll call for Dorenil to examine you to make sure that everything has healed properly," Jareth said. I nodded before remembering that I should try to contact my friends in Alfea to tell them that I am now safe and away from my abusive family, the girls are most likely worried sick. "Do you have any pen and paper that I could use to write a letter with? I have friends in Alfea who are most likely worried sick about me, I haven't been able to contact them since my mother died. I went to school with them and I was very close with them" I told him. Jareth nodded, "I will get some for you," he said. "Thank you, you have been so kind to me," I said. He smiled, "you're welcome" he replied
There was a knock at the door, Jareth got up "that will be the food and Dorenil" he said. Jareth opened the door and sure enough, Dorenil was standing there holding a tray, "I got this off the goblin who was coming this way" he said. Jareth smiled before letting Dorenil inside. Dorenil placed the tray on the bedside table before doing a quick examination. "All you need is rest," he said. He smiled before leaving. Jareth and I ate before he left to get paper and a pen for me. "Take your time and I will send it for you when you have finished," he said. "Thank you Jareth" I replied
