i was waiting ,

with a bundle of nerves ,

eyes scanning the room for your chocolate colored hair,

i waved trying to get your attention ,

and your eyes scanned the room but never noticing my wave,

a prettier girl looped her arm around yours,

your eyes meet hers and they smile,

i was left there standing ,

with crushed hopes in a prom dress
