We were classmates since elementary days. We grew up together and studied at Riverview High. He had a crush on me back then. But I don't like him. His mom always goes to school to bring snack for him and waits 'til he's done eating. Well, maybe it's an advantage for them 'coz their home is just meters away from our school. But the point is ... hello, who would ever fall in love with a mama's boy?

I always caught him staring at me. Sometimes when he's playing basketball, he would say "this is for you". And I'll make face like 'eww'. We were still kids, I don't even know how to react on such situations. I definitely don't like him. But one thing's for sure, he has a crush on me. Kent Mason has a crush on me.

It was 5th grade and he needs to go study abroad, it was a family matter. I don't care. It's no big deal for me since I don't like him. And that time a girl in our class obviously has a crush on him. When we were young, if someone has a crush on somebody; let it be. He's already hers, or vice versa. Look for another boy /girl to have a crush on. During those times, you will never be scared of losing the one you love /like. People won't mind other's property. It's like being confident enough to leave your belongings for no one would attempt to steal 'coz it's already yours. See how the world was lived before? We already have a different lifestyle nowadays.

It was my 1st year high when I had my first boyfriend. I said yes to Marcus McCoy during my birthday. We sit beside each other during classes, that's our bonding I guess since we're not going out on a date. We have no phones yet so during weekends we borrow phones from our cousins. It's just easy. Simply asking "how are you?" "How's your day?" "How's this and that?" Life is so simple. Just that simple.

It was my Sophomore year and I found out something. My friend - Beatriz which happens to be Kent's cousin said that everything between me and Marcus isn't real. The boys just bet on me. It hurts but not too much, of course it's just a puppy love. It's like you were hurt because you trusted someone in your life and you found out that he's just pretending that he cares. It's not a bet over money or a thing in exchange for something. It's a bet whether he's a straight real guy or not. And he can prove that he's not gay by having me say yes as his girlfriend. Well, relationships will never be successful if it's a product of a lie. The funny thing is, I can't face him and doesn't even know how to break up with him since it's my first time. I just asked Beatriz to do it for me, since she's the one who leaked the secret to me. She's fierce enough to confront someone. And in just a snap of a finger, it's done. It's like a game with no serious players. Before, when we're broken it just heals that easy. Everything is so easy.

When we were kids, we could freely feel so damn happy. To the point where we can just go play around and no one would ever be serious in getting mad at us. It will all just pass by so quickly because who are we? We're just kids. Kids who just wanted to be happy without thinking about any negativity in this world.

Imagine if we are still like that at this moment of our lives, I think everything around us will be so perfect. No one will ever get tired of being with us. No one will ever leave us behind. No one will ever stab us at the back. Because if they did, they would definitely lose a playmate.

This is where my life begins and never imagined that this would turn out to be a roller coaster ride.

I am Ashia Lexi Jones, my friends call me Ash. And this is the story of my life.
