Michael POV
I opened my eyes back up once I heard the sound of sirens and the voice of other men. I looked around to see firemen surrounding my car trying to remove me from my completely totaled vehicle. The car was leaking gasoline and smoking. I heard them talking amongst eachother about how serious this was. "We need to get him out before it explodes." One said oblivious to the fact that I had regained consciousness. I felt my heart begin to race and I tried shuffling to find a way out so I could survive. Just as I begin moving one of the firemen locked eyes with me. "Sir, you shouldn't move. We're going to get you out. Remain calm." He tried to reassure me. "I can't remain calm, I need to get to the hospital. My girlfriend needs me, my baby needs me!" I exclaimed. He wore a sympathetic look and opened his mouth to respond but just as he began forming the first word, the other firemen had found a way to get me out by ripping open the car. "Don't move! Something could be broken, we have to examine you and make sure all is good." He began saying. "No offense, but forget the examination." I responded as I jumped up and began pacing. "Please take me to the hospital. I have to go to Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital now!" I demanded. They all looked at me in shock to see that I came out practically undamaged. I stared back at them for a few seconds with an impatient look on my face. They got me into an ambulance and we sped off to the Cleveland hospital.
The ambulance nurse laid me on a stretcher to examine the rest of my body. She was surprised to see that I had nothing more than a few bumps and scratches and rips in my clothes. "I've never seen anyone survive an accident that extreme, let alone escape with no broken bones." She began. "Well, I'm thankful I made it out. I need to get to my girlfriend as soon as possible." I admitted. "Not to pry, but how in the world did it all happen?" She asked. "My girlfriend, she's pregnant and I got a call saying something was wrong with the baby so I was speeding all the way home when I recieved a text stating that she no longer wanted to be with me. It caught me off guard, I started veering into the other lane and eventually lost control of my car. I'm just glad I'm still here." I told her. She gave me a look of sympathy. "I'm sorry that happened." She said. I nodded in agreement not knowing what else to say. I eventually sat up and moved to a bench inside the ambulance once she was done. A few moments of silence passed by. "Leia." She said. "What?" I asked in pure confusion. "My name is Leia." She said. "Oh, I'm Michael." I introduced myself. She smiled. "So, is it a boy or girl?" She asked. "We wanted to keep it as a surprise until the birth." I admitted. "How far along is she?" She asked. "6 months." I told her. "Aww, just 3 more months." She responded. I smirked, unable to form a real smile at the moment.45 Minutes Later
We were about 10-15 minutes from the hospital and I began getting more impatient. I wanted to get up and start pacing to calm down, but I didn't want to risk falling with how fast we were driving. I grabbed my phone which I managed to put and keep in my pocket throughout the whole accident. I hadn't looked at it this whole ride because I couldn't focus right. When I unlocked the screen I saw that I had 21 missed calls from Olivia. I began freaking out. Luckily for me, the 15 minutes passed like a blink of an eye and we were turning into the hospitals parking lot. Once the truck parked and the doors were opened, I bolted out and fast walked to the door while shouting and expressing my everlasting thanks for all of their help the last hour. I pulled my phone back out and called Olivia back.
"Hello? Michael??" She answered with worry in her voice.
"Baby? I'm so sorry. I'm here okay?" I responded
"Where are you?" She asked.
"I'm at the hospital." I told her
"They discharged me about an hour ago. Come home, Michael." She paused "I need to see you."
"I need to see you too. I'll be there as soon as possible. I love you." I responded as I hung up the phone and pulled up my lyft app. My phone has 3% left. I needed it to last until I got into this car. I ordered the lyft and it took no time getting to me. I got in and tapped my foot all the way home. Once I got there, I ran through the door to see Olivia, Triniti, Janet and Latoya all sitting on the couch. Latoya secluded herself and wore an angry look while Triniti and Janet sat beside Olivia. I sensed a lot of tension in the room but I looked past all of them and went straight to Olivia. I fell to my knees and began rubbing and kissing her stomach. "Is everything okay?" I immediately asked. "Yeah, I just got stressed out." I admitted. "Why the hell are your clothes all torn? And what are all these scratches and bruises from?" She asked. "Baby, I was in an accident. Do you really want to leave me?" I asked. "We do have to talk, but first what do you mean an accident? What the hell happened?" She asked. They all look at me with worried looks. "I saw the text you sent me, I lost control and got hit by a semi. My car is gone, but you can't get rid of me that easy Liv. I'm not going anywhere." I said. "Oh my god, Michael. I'm so sorry. I love you so much, I'm so glad you're okay!" She said as she pulled me into her arms and kissed all over my face and neck. "It's okay, I'm here now. That's what matters most." I responded. I noticed Olivia glance around the room at everyone. Everyone got up and left the room. "What's going on?" I asked. "Sit down." She said. "Don't tell me you're still leaving me?" I asked, concerned. "Well, I think you're going to leave me." She responded. I got confused. "Why?" I asked. "I thought you were cheating on me. I didn't find out it wasn't true until later. The way that Latoya set everything up made it so real. I heard that womans voice and then she called me-" I cut her off. "Who called you?" I asked. "That girl. She said she's your girlfriend and you told her to relay the message to me. That's what put me in the hospital." I admitted. "I'm not going anywhere. Okay? I'm not mad at you, you had reason to think that way." I immediately responded. I gave her a peck on the lips then exited to my room. As I was walking away I pulled my phone out and called my mom. I saw the girls, excluding Latoya, in the upstairs hallway clearly eavesdropping. I walked by them and entered my room, closing the door behind me. I clicked call on the phone and waited for her to answer.
"Hello son?" My mother began.
"Is Diana still around?" I asked.
"Yes, dear." She responded. She handed the phone to Diana.
"Hey Michael!" Diana gleefully answered.
"Don't hey me. We're not friends. You know that entire time I was there I avoided you. I wasn't around you the whole time. I even bought you a hotel room which you barely went to. How dare you call my girlfriend and tell her I told you to tell her we were done? And for you? No. Don't ever contact me or my family again." I spat.
"You must have forgot that you left me with your mother." She responded as she evilly cackled and hung the phone up.
I was fired up. I opened the door to see Janet standing there. "We going to beat a bitch up." She said referring to the fact that she heard the entire conversation. Janet and I made our way back downstairs to see Olivia and Triniti on the couch. "We gotta go. Again. My moms in trouble." I immediately spat. "Trin, keep an eye out for Olivia." Janet said. "And Latoya, you're no longer welcome here so pack your stuff and get out. If you're not gone in the next half hour I'll have someone remove you." I yelled knowing wherever she was, she heard me and if not, the message would be relayed. I went over to Olivia and gave her a firm hug and a long kiss. I looked at Janet and we made our way out the door and back to mothers house.
