Jilda checked her reflection in the mirror and laughed to herself. She hadn't thought her newly bought pink halter dress would look so good on her. She took her purse and waited for Luke in the living room. At Luke's home he finished using his lint brush and smiled, he was glad the new suit he purchased arrive two days ago. He went into his Rolls Royce and drove off to his destination.
He rang Jilda' doorbell and she answered to a bouquet of flowers in front of her.
"I saw them in a store window and just couldn't resist."
She laughed.
"Thank you Luke."
He offered her his arm and he escorted her to his car. Jilda felt her heart beating quicker than normal walking with him this way. Luke smiled from the corner of his eye seeing her appearance.
They went into the car and drove to the restaurant for dinner.
"Tell me Jilda, have you been single for a while?" He asked while driving.
"Almost a year now. My ex wasn't who I thought."
Luke was silent for a moment.
"I see... My ex-wife was like that too."
Jilda head shot up hearing that revelation. How ironic could them having this dinner be?
12 minutes later...
When they arrived they were ushered to their seats.
Jilda already knew what she wanted and so did Luke.
"I'll have the fish and Shanghai noodles with red wine." Luke said handing back his menu.
Jilda was speechless and didn't paid the waiter much attention.
"Jilda?" Luke asked.
"Yes?" She said once her concentration returned.
"Aren't you going to order?"
"Oh yes. I'll have what he's having."
Surprise Luke could only laugh.
"I didn't know you too liked Chinese food."
"I always have."
They exchanged smiles once again.
Throughout their dinner Jilda and Luke couldn't stop laughing nervously. They realized their was MANY things they had in common. She adored animals and so did he. He liked and showed interest in attending university outside of his acting career. Furthermore, they wanted to do more yoga training together.
On a more serious level, they spoke about their exes and that too had its parallels. Neither of them could take being with someone snobby, confused and conceited. They both knew they deserved better and would get it. Most of all, they had a supportive family as well.
Music started to play in the restaurant and it was quite pleasant.
"Would you like to dance?" He asked offering his hand.
"I'd love to." She replied taking it.
They danced slowly and very closely. They were nervous internally but their bodies weren't. When the music started to become more upbeat, they let their groove on. Luke spin Jilda and tipped her over. Luke got a better look at her dress and tried not to gaze at ever inch. Jilda felt how strong he was underneath his suit and tried not to imagine him shirtless.
The sexual tension between them was mounting and what they wore didn't help matters. Nor did anything else which they shared.
After fifteen minutes they paid their meal and left. Both of them tried not to think of the thrills and heat they were mutually feeling. Luke walked Jilda back to her home and wished her goodnight. As they did their lips were within a millimetre of touching.
"It's getting late, I better go. Goodnight Jilda."
She slowly moved her head back.
"Goodnight Luke. Drive safely."
That night they both went to bed knowing that this wasn't friendship they were forming alone.
They both knew then that eventually this was going to explode into something big.
