"I'm glad that's over." Mimi spoke first.
"I know, right? I thought we were goners!" Bud responded.
My name flashed on the screen. I walked up to the line and grabbed one of the lighter balls on the rack. I aimed and tossed the ball as hard as I could, knocking over a solid seven pins. The remaining three went down next, earning a few extra points for getting a 'spare'.
When my turn finished, I walked over to Misty. "I thought you'd learnt your lesson after the carnival incident."
"When will you see?" She sounded... broken, which made sense considering what had happened. She walked away, but not before whispering something that made my blood turn to ice.
"I'll never change."
