                                                        Invisible.

That's how fifteen year old Lydia Deetz felt at this moment. The priest was going on and on about the funeral, but Lydia heard nothing. She could see nothing. All she could focus on was the fact that her beloved mother was dead. How had it even happened? It was so unfair that her beautiful and kind mother had lost the battle with cancer and died, leaving Lydia alone with her unfeeling dad.

Lydia wanted to scream at her father as he sat there, no emotion visible in his dark, unfeeling eyes. Lydia felt another rush of tears coming on as she watched them close the casket, sealing off any trace of her mother's body from the world. A  sob escaped her lips. Without her mom, nobody cared for her, they all just stood there, whispering to find kind words to say. Funny how no one actually came up and comforted her. Not even her newly appointed life coach, Delia.

Taking a deep breath, Lydia stood up, and waited for this part of the service to end.

Lydia knew it would feel like eternity.
