Arriving back in New York, the first thing to greet me is multiple men in Black suits with guns.
"Are you Astraea Smith?" A big guy at the front of the group asks.
"Yeah," I say wondering who they are, " why?"
"Director Fury has requested your presence in the Avengers conference room,"
"Lead the way," I gesture for them to go.
We walk the way in silence as I can feel my tattoo start to tingle. One of the guys knocks on the door and we receive a 'come in' from someone on the other side of the door. Entering the room, I'm met with the sight of all the Avengers sat around a table with Director Fury standing at the head of it.
"Who is she?" Black Widow asks not hiding her distaste for me.
"Astraea Smith, an agent on lease from the X-Men," Fury answers her without missing a beat.
I can feel my soulmates eyes on me, but I ignore them.
"You're that girl from earlier," Hawkeye points out the obvious.
"Thanks for stating the obvious, Hawkdude," I respond.
