"hey!" jaemin ran next to jang-mi to catch up to her walking pace. they were both currently heading to the cafeteria to grab lunch before their final lecture of the day. she was both mentally strained and tired, without food, there was no way she was going to function

"i'm exhausted, don't bother me today" she said in an exasperated breath, clutching onto the copious amount of folders in her arm right now.

"do you want me to carry that?" jaemin asked politely, skipping along the corridor next to her, his hands behind his back and not a single book evident in his hands

"no" jang-mi pronounced, unbothered.

"really?"

"no means no, get that through your head"

"well let me be nice for at least a moment"

(btw like 6 hours passed after that)

they arrived in the cafeteria for dinner soon enough, jang-mi dashing off into one of the corner seats as soon as she got her tray. she hated crowds, and most people know that.

jaemin had forgotten to re-register his lunch card since last time he registered under the wrong name, now he had to go through a whole process of registering again, so jaemin wasn't with jang-mi right now, gladly must i add.

a bottle of water appeared in her peripheral, well, the bottle of water was placed in front of her. Renjun sat down opposite her, his glasses sitting on the tip of his nose and a bottle of water in his hand that has been pushed towards her

"i know you don't really like company but you've been studying so hard lately, so i thought you may as well have someone to make sure your not over-studying yourself" he explained, stabbing at his food with his chopsticks "you need to eat more" he got a piece of his chicken and placed it onto her tray

she raised her eyebrow, never in a million years did she think this particular boy would be trying to feed her right now

"sorry, do you want something from me?" she asked, astounded. he chuckled, shaking his head "not everyone's evil jang-mi, you just gotta appreciate what others are willing to do for you, just in case they aren't there when you need them most, especially in this type of school"

appreciation, she's never really thought about that. she had always been so rejecting, afraid of just that little tear in her heart if she had gotten close with anyone. but things change, and now, she wasn't so sure rejection was the only way to protect her fragile heart

"i heard something happened with minhee yesterday, are you ok?" he asked gently, placing his chopsticks down and focusing all his attention onto her. she simply nodded, playing with the chicken he had placed on her tray a while ago

"minhee was sent for an confirmation exam yesterday"

now she was interested
