students found wandering on/off campus after curfew or 9:00 will be punished with immediate extermination (or placed in the chamber waiting for extermination) or obliged to complete the confirmation exam depending on where the student is found or the situation the student was in

"i'm so sorry" jang-mi bit her lips as she stood in front of a boy with glasses sitting steadily on his nose

"it's fine, i'll be fine" Renjun replied, a light smile evident on his face

"it was our fault honestly, i'm sorry. i would take it instead of you but you know...the principal wouldn't let me" she sighed, running a hand through her head in guilt

"this is the most you've ever talked to me so this already makes up for it anyways" Renjun laughed, his bright smile completely contradicting the mood of the waiting room

"you shouldn't have done it...i owe you a massive favour"

FLASHBACK...

hands appeared on the edge of the clothes and they were both mentally prepared for the security to show up in their face

"hello?" a familiar voice called from above the attic. the security released his hands almost immediately, causing both of their eyebrows to raise high up in the air in both confusion and relief

footsteps scurried out onto the exit of the attic, leaving the attic with silence.

"what?" jang-mi pulled the clothes away, stepping out of the suffocating wardrobe with jaemin following after her

"well, i think god has finally sent down a guardian angel for us" jaemin smiled, stretching his arms and walking around the attic

"that voice sounds familiar..." jang-mis eyes lit up in realisation, her jaw falling open. she bolted towards the exit of the attic and ran up the stairs. jaemin blinked at her and followed, just in case she was going to get caught straight after they had basically escaped death

jang-mi halted as soon as she saw the security grasp an arm that belonged to a boy with messy hair and dressed in his sleep wear. he could only be recognised as Renjun. Renjun turned around, his eyes connected with hers. the surprising thing was he still had a very small smile on his lips. he winked at her before he was dragged away by the security

"he might not be as bad as i thought" jaemin shrugged, leaning on the stair rails

"Huang Renjun" a voice sounded in the room, Renjun standing up at his name.

"Good luck Renjun, please...make it out" she bid an anxious goodbye, collapsing on the waiting room seats

"if i was doing a confirmation exam, would you be this concerned?" jaemin scoffed in jealousy, sitting down next to jang-mi

"that boy just risked his life to save us and you're asking me that?" jang-mi snapped, fiddling with her brothers ring that was wrapped tightly in her palm

"well, i practically saved you" jaemin folded his arms together and leant back in the chair. this was going to be a long two hour wait until the results came out, and jang-mi refused to move from the waiting room till the results were about so therefore both of them were stuck there for the only day they didn't have class
