_rule 27
any student signed up for extermination must scan their IDs and enter the extermination chamber before your due date. students are not required to scan their faces as they already have before the exam. exterminations will be done orderly and none will be shown on the projector, but students are welcome to stand outside the glass protector

[o n e d a y t i l l e x a m i n a t i o n]

"we all know that students are prohibited anywhere beside the dorm building and lecture and cafeteria rooms in the study building, correct?" the teachers voice echoed through the room, the student quieting down within a second

jaemin was playing doodling over jangmi's notebook as the classroom silenced. the two sat stiff in their seats, both knowing that they visited the attic on multiple occasions

"two students have been reportedly spotted down in the school storage room. their identities are still unknown, but as a warning, the principal would like to give out the first waning before students are sent to the extermination chamber"

this was when the two knew they had been busted, a mere day before the exam. when the teacher finished hollowing at everyone, jangmi turned to jaemin with an unreadable expression across her face

"how..." she breathed

"i-i dont know...someone must've busted us" jaemin dropped the pen and leant back, ruffling up his hair. but before they could even continue their conversation, the teacher walked up to them.

all of a sudden, an idea came into mind

her eyes flickered towards jaemin, and all she could do we apologise to him through her gaze

"na jaemin...it was him. i saw him walking down to the attic recently and-and i was so sure it was him" she tried so hard to keep her voice together, but her eyes never wavered. the teacher looked the girl up and down, nodding before jotting down something

"as for the other one...i don't know. i've only seen him walk down" she swallowed, hard.

"what time did you see this?"

"around 9:00 pm i think" the question she was waiting for came

"you do realise that that is after curfew right?" the teacher placed her pen down

"yes, but i realised this case was more serious than me sneaking out after curfew"

"i appreciate your bravery, but i will have to send you a punishment for violating rule number 6. it would usually results in a confirmation exam, although i will let you off this time and assign the glass chamber cleaning to you" she wrote a slip and passed it to jangmi, where she took it without objections

walking out of the classroom with the teacher tailing behind her, she spotted a nervous pink haired boy with his hand shoved in his mouth. he scrunched you his eyebrow, continuously tapping his feet on the floor

"jang-" he began, but when his eyes fell on the teacher and the way jangmi had ignored eye contact, he knew what had happened

"na jaemin, your confirmation exam will commence in an hour"

and his heart shredded into a million pieces
