Chapter 10

I thought about when I stepped into said puddle and winced when I, again, felt a sudden pain in my right hip. I grabbed it and felt the wetness of my blood. So the assassins had cut me and probably with their poisonous claws. I had to get the poison out. And soon. I quickly moved behind a tree, making sure no one noticed and took out a kunai. I looked at my blood stained clothes. I took a deep breath before lifting my shirt to see the damage they had done. I felt a bit woozy after moving around so much with poison in my blood. It had moved through me quicker than anticipated. Actually I hadn't anticipated it at all as I wasn't even aware that I had been poisoned. I gripped the kunai knife tightly and moved it toward my wound. The cut was deep and precise. They made sure it was close enough to my heart so that I would be dead in less than an hour.

I sucked in my breath as I plunged the weapon into the wound. It hurt like hell and was extremely hard not to make a sound.

My nerves were screaming at me. I couldn't help but let out a little grunt of pain, but it was enough to let Kakashi and Sasuke know I was not with them anymore.

I heard them searching for me. I looked at the wound and saw that I had maybe lost a little too much blood, more than was good for me anyway. I grabbed a bandage from my backpack and started wrapping it around my wound. I cried out when my nail accidently touched the wound. I hissed at my mistake and in pain. Stupid! I tied it more quickly before letting my shirt fall down onto my hips. Kakashi and the rest of my team had heard my cry of pain and started calling my name. They were going to notice the blood instantly if I just walked out toward them. I weaved my hands together and let the transformation Jutsu hide the bloodstain. I walked out from behind the trees. "I'm right here guys, no need to worry so much." I said with a grin. I didn't want them to worry. The only problem was that they would probably be able to see that I was still in pain.

"Miyuki what happened? You sounded like you were in pain." Kakashi questioned me.

I laughed and rubbed my head sheepishly. "Sorry 'bout that. I thought I heard something and went in search for it, but there was nothing so I turned back. Coincidently I stubbed my toe on a tree stump as I was coming back and right after I walked into a thorn bush. Guess I really am clumsy." I easily let a believable lie slip out of my mouth. "Sorry if I worried you. I'm not usually that clumsy."

Kakashi seemed to believe the lie, but Sasuke looked at me suspiciously. I walked toward the group and stood in between Sasuke and Naruto. Sasuke moved a little closer, it wouldn't have been noticed by anyone but me. "So what's with the blood then?" He asked in a whisper, raising an eyebrow.

My eyes widened and I looked down at myself. My shirt looked clean, thanks to the transformation Jutsu, but I'd forgotten to clean my hands after I wrapped the wound in bandages. They were soaked with my blood.

"Oh, it's probably Narutos-kun's blood." I stated simply, wiping my hands.

"Miyuki and I am going to scout ahead to make sure there's no one else here." Kakashi nodded and before I could protest Sasuke grabbed my arm and pulled me along. It was really out of character for him to do such a thing, but whatever. When we were out of sight Sasuke pushed me against a tree, pinning me to it. My eyes widened. What the hell? He made sure I couldn't move before lifting my shirt and seeing the bandaged wound. He let me go and folded his arms. "Talk."

I sighed, knowing he saw right through me. "Alright fine, I got poisoned and I didn't want to worry you all so I got rid of it." I folded my arms across my chest. "There, you happy now?"

He nodded and turned around without another word and headed back. I silently followed him.

"It's all clear, sensei." I said to Kakashi, once again folding my arms and giving Sasuke a pointed look.
