Being in his arms provided me the comfort that Ive been seeking for a very long time.
"I think we must go to the living room, Jake, Harper and Leo are shit scared and Adam, I guess he knows. "
I nodded and he stood up first and helped me get up. And once we did, he pulled me in a cosy hug and I just closed my eyes taking it all in.
My head and eyes hurt with all the crying and thinking.
As he started to leave me, his hands snaked to my cheeks and he kissed my forehead and I just looked at him and smiled.
I moved to the sink and I turned on the water and splashed it on my face. I felt a bit of relief in my headache.
I looked in the mirror to see Alex leaning on the wall holding a towel in his hand.
I took the towel and wiped my face. I looked at Alex with tiredness filled in my eyes. He kissed my forehead and said, " I will forever protect you "
"Thank you"
He put out his hand and I took it. We moved to the living room to see Leo comforting Jake and Adam comforting Harper. It was a fresh sight to see that Harper is letting someone other comforting her rather than Jake and I, or her parents.
