The first time I met him, he took my breath away. Literally. It wasn’t one of those “love at first sight” types, it was a “I’m tired so leave me the hell alone” type. You might be confused right now, but I’ll give you a little back story on me and my life before we get into his

My name is Jemma, more commonly known as LoveJem on this little website called Youtube. You may or may not have heard of it, if you haven’t then you probably have been living under a rock or have not have used the interwebs before and if that is the case then good luck my friend because my whole life is based off the internet. I mean my career is at least and that’s a full time job for me. I’d been fortunate enough to be pretty successful on youtube. I hit 1 mil just last week and I still can’t believe it. Just a little over five months ago was the day I turned 18 and 2 months after my birthday was the day of my big move out here in LA

At first it was weird not waking up to my family members in the morning, but the more time I spent here, the more I got used to my surroundings. I knew this town like the back of my hand and I also knew that it could chew you up and spit you out like you’re nothing in less than a day. That’s why I always tried my best to keep myself in check and to remember my humble beginnings, it was a mac camera on my laptop which got me started on filming random rants that eventually turned into actual skits on a professional camera. Over the course of 3 years, through some miraculous reason, I was able to reach 1 million subscribers and I swear I was on a subscriber high for the past few days just trying to wrap my head around it. A smile was plastered on my face wherever I went and it was to the point where my friends would have to ask if I was okay because the amount of shiny white teeth I’ve been displaying on the daily was getting a little concerning

After a week of being in shock from actually hitting 1 million, I knew that the amount of good days that I’d have in a row would dwindle but I didn’t think it was going to happen like this

From past conversations with some of my friends who were in the youtube community as well, I learned that your home was where you could actually let yourself be free and be comfortable so letting your location be known would not help that cause. While house hunting, the first thing I looked for was privacy and this apartment gave me just that. Visitors weren’t allowed inside without permission from the tenants and they’d have to be let in through an intercom that came to a specific chosen apartment. The staff here was pretty cool too. They were all trained to handle the worst situations, the guy who lived across from me got kicked out after a very disastrous visit from his drunken ex girlfriend that resulted in one of the windows in the lobby being broken. The apartment manager did not tolerate any bullshit from his tenants which I was grateful for because it meant peace and quiet for me

The building finished its’ construction just about a year ago, so it was quite new in the city and there weren’t that many people living there so the prices were more than affordable for me. I chose to stay on the top floor because it meant easy access to the roof top which had the most beautiful view of the city, of course tenants weren’t usually allowed up there, but over the course of my stay in this building, I’ve become very close with some of the workers and even the owner of the actual apartments so I could basically do whatever I wanted to do as long as I didn’t break anything

Now that the guy who lived across from me got kicked out, I was the only one living on the top floor which meant more freedom for me. There was no one on the floor below mine yet because of how new the building was so I could make all the noise I wanted up here without any complaints

But lets go back to the day it all began though

I was coming home from a late night out with my friends, and it was basically like this every night for the past few days because my friends believed that hitting the 1 million mark was an excuse to celebrate. By the fifth night I was more than exhausted from the excessive amount of partying and I was missing my bed more than ever. It was around 3 am when my uber dropped me off in front of my apartment and I was more than ready to bury myself in my bed for sleep
