Becoming Parents

It was a sunny day and ash, serena, bonnie and clemont were having a lunch break, all of the pokemon were out if their poke balls and they were either playing around or chilling, ash was sitting at the table watching all of his pokemon, serena was next to him reading the pokemon guild book, bonnie was playing with dedenne and squishy and lastly clemont was making the dinner, ash was watching as his pikachu was playing with serena's sylveon then he looks over at his greninja who was asleep with serena's delphox (i'm making serena's braixen evolved into a delphox cause she suits one and i'm nice), ash and even serena has notice that ever since braixen evolved into delphox thanks to team rocket greninja has been more clingy to delphox and delphox is the same to greninja, ash smiled as he knows that they were in love with each other but he pretends to be stupid about the whole thing since he wanted to, ash then looks at serena and...was it him or...was she more beautiful then usual...wait...what was he thinking, he looks away with a small blush on his face so that nobody could see it and he thought about what he thought, serena...beautiful...well...it was true...and she was cute when she blushed...wait...why is he thinking this?!
"ash...are you okay?" the voice of serena asks making ash snap out of his train of thought
"umm...yeah...just...lost myself for a second" ash says and he rubs the back of his head bashfully
serena looks at him for a moment then shrugs and then was going to look back at the book she had but then she notices delphox and greninja
"aww look at them two" serena says and ash looks where serena looks "that's so cute!"
"yeah..." ash says looking at them too but then back at serena 'not as cute as you tho...wait...ugh! stop it me!' he thought with a little blush on his face
"dinners ready!" clemont says and he puts dinner out on the table then gives the pokemon their food
everyone was happy and they tucked in, after finishing their food the pokemon went back to what they were doing and ash gets up
"i'm going to look around" ash says standing up
"oh! i come too" serena says standing up too
"ok me and bonnie clean up" clemont says and bonnie nods
"ok, come on dedenne!" bonnie says to her mouse and dedenne happily responses
ash and serena then goes off and they walked up the river bank, as they walked ash couldn't stop thinking about what he thought eariler about serena
"huh? what's up ash?" serena says noticing how quiet ash was "you're quiet today"
"huh?...oh! sorry...just...umm" ash says trying to think on what to say "can i ask you something?"
"what's up?" serena says not sure what he is going to say
"what...is love...i forgot" ash says rubbing his head bashfully
serena stopped on what she just heard and she blushes a little
"oh...well...there is 2 types of love...one with pokemon and one with people" serena says thinking about it "the one with pokemon is what you know already since you have one with all of your pokemon but the people one is different"
"how different?" ash asks wanting to know as they carried on walking
"well...love is other people is called a crush and there are symptoms to know when you are in love with someone" serena says knowing that she has a crush on ash
"what are they?" ash says curious
"well...you start to think happy thoughts about them like 'oh that person is so cute' or that person is so handsome or beautiful', you get a fuzzy warm feeling when they do something like say something nice about you or get close to you, you want to do everything you can to make them happy or protect them, you blush all shades of red when they do anything that involves you and you get emotionally connected to them like getting jealous when you see them with someone else, getting sad when they tell you off and making you feel happy" serena explains as she was thinking of her own feeling towards ash
ash thought about it and he had experience all of them when he was around serena, he alway had a fuzzy feeling when serena was close to him or when she says something nice about him, he always made serena happy and protect her when she was in danger, he always has to hid a blush when serena did anything cute, he always get jealous when a guy went over to her and flirt with her, he got sad when she left him and he felt happy when he was with her
"why do you ask? are you...in love with...someone" serena asks curious and blushing a little
ash looks at her and his mind thought she looked cute as she was blushing
"i...don't know...i think so" ash says also blushing a little "are...are you in love with someone?" he asked
"i...uhh...umm...maybe" serena says feeling pressured
"oh...is...is it someone i know?" ash asked a little curious
"yeah...really well" serena says and then she looks away
ash thought about it and then he was broke out of thought when he hears serena gasp
"serena?!" ash says looking at serena who was shocked by something "what is it? are you alright?" he says worried
"yeah...but look" serena says and she points ahead of them
ash looks and he sees something float down the stream, serena then goes in and grabs what was in the stream dispite her shoes and socks getting wet
"it's...it's an egg" serena says going to ash
"what is it doing all the way out here?" ash asks looking around
serena looks at the egg and it was white with blue and red triangles on it
"i don't know but we should-" serena says but she was stopped mid sentence when she hears a crack
ash and serena look down and then the egg hatches in serena's arms, then it morphs into a pokemon that based itself around the egg with a crown like head, little arms and little feet
"oh! it's a togepi!" ash says realising what pokemon it was
togepi then opens its eyes and then looks up at serena, it looks at her for a moment then at ash
"to-to!" 'mama!' togepi says happily at serena then it looks at ash "pi-pi!" 'papa!' it says to ash
ash and serena look at each other then they watch togepi being happy
"...heh...i think it thinks we are it's parents" ash says amused
"really?...i don't know if i'm ready to be a parent" serena says a little worried
ash nods agree then they hear bonnie call then so they head back, when they get back bonnie sees the togepi and she gets excited
"aww what's that!" bonnie says cuted our by togepi
"it's a togepi" ash says "we found it going down the stream as a egg and then it hatched in serena's arms" he explained
"yeah" serena says watching bonnie go to togepi
"hi togepi, i'm bonnie and this is dedenne" bonnie says introducing herself
"dedede!" 'hello!' dedenne says happily
"togipree~" 'hello~' togepi says happily waving its arms
pikachu then goes onto ash's shoulder and he meets togepi
"pi pi pi!" 'togepi!' pikachu says happily seeing another togepi
"togipree~" 'hello~' togepi says happily
"pi pikachu" 'i'm pikachu' pikachu says happily
serena then puts togepi down and pikachu goes next to it
"to-to?" 'mama?' togepi says not sure what serena was doing
serena then pulls out a pokédexs and points it at togepi
"togepi, the egg pokemon, the shell it wears is filled with joy and it said to share good luck with anyone around it" the robot in the pokédex explains
"aww!" serena says picking up togepi again after putting the pokédex away "you're good luck to us meeting us like you did" she says and she snuggles togepi
"togepree~" togepi says happily about the praise and snuggles
togepi then looks at ash and smiles
"pr-pr!" 'papa!' togepi says stretching his arms out to ash
ash then takes it and togepi snuggles him too making ash chuckles
"ok calm down" ash says happy with togepi's snuggles
"huh? why does togepi like ash and you so much?" bonnie asks
"i think it...sorry she...thinks we are her parents" serena says looking up togepi in the pokédex "and...wow...togepi has the hidden ability super luck" she says looking up togepi a bit more
"really?! cool!" ash says giving togepi affection which she loved
pikachu then goes on ash's shoulder and uses his paw to play with togepi
clemont then comes over and he was suprised by the togepi and both ash and serena had to explain to him what happened, clemont was ok with it and then he went to invent something as they decided to have some down time, bonnie was happily playing with dedenne, pikachu and togepi and both ash and serena watched from the table
"...hey ash..." serena says getting ash's attention
"yeah?" ash replies curious
"how did you know togepi was a togepi" serena says and ask smiles
"well when i was roaming the kanto region, i had a friend that was a gym leader and her name was misty, she had a togepi hatch in her arms like this one did and he thought misty was her mom and pikachu his dad since pikachu cared about him so much" ash explained "she doesn't have it anymore since it evolved into a togetic but she still thinks about him" he finished
"oh that's cool" serena says feeling jealously building up in her about this misty
"so...what do you want to do with togepi?" ask asks curious "i don't mind keeping her"
"oh! umm...yeah... we are her 'parents' after all" serena says thinking about it
"yeah...and she would be a great performer too" ash says thinking about it "see her on stage with you will be cute"
serena blushes as he said she was cute and she smiles
"ok" serena says happily then togepi goes over to them
"to-to! pr-pr!" 'mama! papa!' togepi says happily snugging the pair
"hey togepi?" serena says getting the egg pokemon's attention "do you want to come with us on our travels?" she asked
"pree pree~" 'yeah yeah~' togepi says happily and then serena smiles
ash and serena watch happily as togepi jumps for joy but they didn't know they were being watch by team rocket which is mainly jessie and james
"well...it looks like the twerpette got herself a togepi" jessie says pulling the binoculars from her eyes
"that reminds me of that ginger twerpette's togepi" james says also pulling his binoculars away and jessie looks at him
"oh yeah...i even remember bringing that togepi to the boss and he didn't want it" jessie says
james nods then he looks at meowth who was taking a cat nap, jessie then remember eariler when serena and ash were talking about love as she was watching them the whole time while both meowth and james were asleep and james just woke up a few minutes ago, jessie looks at james who was trying to see if he can wake up meowth and she thought on everything serena said about love, jessie then remembers that james doesn't like love since he was traumatised by it so she sighs knowing that james will not love her and she looks back at the twerps, james meanwhile was stuck on if he wanted to love jessie he wanted to but he so traumatised on what means that he gave up on it but...he liked jessie and...he was lost on what to do.
later it was dusk and everyone was ready for bed, ash and clemont with into their tent while serena and bonnie was in theirs, togepi was with serena when serena when she went to sleep while pikachu was with ash, in the night a loud noise was heard waking both pikachu and togepi and then they ran out of the tent
"pi pi pi!" 'togepi!' pikachu says seeing an upset togepi "pii...pika pi, pikachu pi pi pi" 'shh...calm down, it's ok togepi' he says comforting the upset scared baby
"togepree toge" 'i'm scared' togepi says hugging pikachu "to-to...pr-pr" 'mama...papa" she says thinking of her parents
"pii...chu pika pi pikachu" 'shh...me and ash will protect you' pikachu says in a comforting tone
togepi calmed down when pikachu mentions ash but then something jumps out the bushes, pikachu looks to what it was while togepi hugs pikachu tightly and it was meowth
"i finally found you pikachu" meowth says evily
"pr-pr!" papa!" togepi says then she ran into ash's tent leaving pikachu with meowth
"pi pi pi!" 'togepi!' pikachu says thinking togepi would run away but he was relieved when she goes into ash's tent "pika" 'oh phew' he says sighing in relief
"papa? what happened while i was asleep?" meowth says confused
pikachu looks at meowth then he sighs before explaining to him what happened during the day, meanwhile when togepi ran in ash's tent she went into ash's sleeping bag where ash was asleep and she snuggles up to ash's chest, she went into her egg still scared but then she soon calmed down starting to feel ash's warmth and protection and then she falls asleep near ash's chest, back outside and pikachu just finished explaining to meowth what happened
"oh...ok...well...whatever" meowth says not sure what to say "i'm going, till we meet again pikachu" he says then he disappears leaving pikachu confused
pikachu then decides since togepi is with ash he should sleep with serena so when she wakes up pikachu can explain where togepi went so he goes into serena's tent and he snuggles up to her before going to sleep near her chest, the next morning ash was the first to wake up and he feels something on his chest, he looks down and he see togepi cuddling him like she needed protecting
"togepi?" ash mumbles making the baby wake up
"pr-pr..." 'papa...' togepi says quietly and she snuggles ash's face
ash then realised that in the night togepi must of got spooked by something and she went to him for protection
ash then gave togepi affection which she loved then he notices pikachu was missing
"where's pikachu?" ask asks
"to-to?" 'mama?' togepi says guessing and ash knew togepi meant serena
"you think pikachu is with serena?" ash says to togepi who was on his lap and togepi nods
ash then crawls out of his tent with togepi in his arms and he sees that it's a sunny day, meanwhile serena wakes up and she opens her eyes to see pikachu sleeping near her chest
"pikachu?" serena says seeing the yellow mouse and pikachu wakes up
"pikachu~" 'hello~' pikachu says in a happy, tired and loving tone and he snuggles serena
"where's togepi?" serena asks sounding a little like a worried mother after the affection
"pika pi" 'ash' pikachu says and serena knows that meant ash
"she's with ash?" serena says confirming what pikachu meant
"pi" 'yes' pikachu says and serena sighs in relief
"oh good" serena says happily then she looks outside the tent to see ash releasing his pokémon while holding togepi
serena then picks up pikachu and she joins ash
"hi ash" serena says getting ash's attention
"oh hi serena, togepi slept with me last night" ash says and he tickles togepi's cheek making the baby giggle
"yeah and i had pikachu" serena says and she pets pikachu in the head making him happy
"pikachu? what happened?" ash asks and pikachu explained
"what did he say?" serena asks after pikachu finishes explaining
"he said that when we were asleep, a loud bang was heard waking both him and togepi up and then he had to comfort togepi since she was scared, then meowth appeared scaring togepi and she ran in my tent for protection, pikachu then got rid of meowth and he then goes to you since togepi was with me" ash explains
"aww! you wanted your father's protection from the scary stuff" serena says and togepi giggles happily
"pr-pr!" 'papa!' togepi says happily then ash smiles at togepi's love for him
pikachu then goes onto ash's shoulder cause serena told him to and then serena released all her pokemon, after she did that she grabbed togepi from ash
"to-to!" 'mama!' togepi says happily in serena's arms "to-to, pr-pr, togepree~" 'mama, papa, love you~' she says happily and this made the pair blush "togepi togepree~" 'love you pikachu' she ended making pikachu happy
"pi pikachu pi pi pi~" 'love you too togepi" pikachu says and togepi laughs
ash and serena smile at each other then they put togepi and pikachu down so they can play, the pair watch them go then they were left along
"hey ash?" serena says getting ash's attention
"yes?" ash replies
"you are...a good parent" serena says giving ash a soft smile with a blush
"thanks...you too" ash replies with a small blush
"thank you...so...are we going to carry on today?" serena asks and ash nods
"yeah, i think the next town is a day away and when we get to the pokemon center, i will eat till i'm full" ash says happily and serena laughs
"you and your food addiction" serena says giggling "i'm suprised you not even the sight bit chubby...not saying in a mean way" she says poking ash's tubby playfully
ash just laughs since serena was poking his tummy and he was a bit ticklish there and then serena giggles at his laughter
"st...stop..." ash says wanting serena to stop tickling him but serena didn't give up easily
serena then started tickling ash and he fell over laughing with serena following him to the ground
"se...ser...serena...st...stop hahaha" ash says in his laughter and then serena decides to stop to give ash a break after a bit
ash then sits up as serena sits next to him and they then stay there for a while only hearing their pokemon
'oh no, serena knows where my tickle spot is, she's going to use it to my advantage now' ash thought "hey serena?"
"i know...i won't tell or do it again...unless it's despite measures" serena says in a joking tone "it really quite cute to know that a pokemon master to be has a tickle spot on his tummy" she says and giggles
ash looks at her with a blush on his face and he knew at that moment he was in love with serena, he had a fuzzy feeling in his tummy and he mind was gone as he was hearing her laugh, serena stopped laughing and then she looks at ash, she can see that he was looking at her and she started to blush
'is he thinking about me?...he look cute when he daydreaming' serena thought 'i better snap him out of it to see what he says' she thinks "hey ash? you there?"
"...oh! sorry" ash says coming back "i was just...lost in thought" he says with a blush which made serena blush
"what were you thinking about? you looked you saw something you love" serena says becoming a blushy mess
'i did and it was you' ash thought "i was just thinking...how...how much i love food yeah! food!" he says like he was hiding something
serena sighs like a mother who caught her kid saying something funny then togepi and pikachu come over, a bit later clemont and bonnie finally wake up and after a chatty breakfast they all set off to the next town, ash was in front but he had togepi while serena was behind him holding onto pikachu, bonnie was skipping happily and clemont was at the far back despite them not walking that fast
"are you having fun pikachu?" serena asks pikachu in her arms
"pika~" 'yeah~' pikachu says happily and serena rubs pikachu's head affectionly making the electric mouse squeak happily
ash looks over at serena and he buddy and he smiles seeing that pikachu trusts someone other then him, he then looks down at togepi who was singing happily in her own way, ash listened in on the song and he can hear togepi says 'to-to' and 'pr-pr' in the song so ash think she was singing about him and serena and possibly pikachu too since togepi saw him as a really close brother, meanwhile team rocket was watching them from the bushes
"it's weird to see the twerp without pikachu oh his shoulder" meowth says
"yeah" james says agreeing then he can hear togepi singing in ash's arms "hey meowth, what is the togepi saying?"
"she singing about the twerp and twerpette" meowth says "as well as pikachu"
"i don't care about that!" jessie says butting in "we need to find a way to take pikachu...and maybe togepi too"
"and let me guess, we're going to give them to the boss" james says and jessie with meowth get happy
"yes then we can have our promotion on giving him pikachu" jessie says happy
"that sounds great and everything but...what are we going to do after?" james says seriously and curiously
"what do you mean, jimmy?" meowth says confused
"i mean...we have been following this twerp for a long time, since we met him in that pokemon center in the kanto region and...for all this time when we always try and capture pikachu, we always end up helping the twerp" james explains "for example i don't think he'll be would of got past half of the gym battles he's been in and befriended some of his pokémon without our help on some way" he says
"...so are you saying...that we've helped the twerp thought his travels" jessie says thinking about it "without realising it"
"yes" james says with a nod "...i think the boss was right when he said that we have grown attached to the twerp"
"i think...you're right james" jessie says sighing as it all adds up "and i think...if we never met the twerp, we would of been fired a long time ago" she adds
all 3 of them look at each other then fall onto the grass sighing
"so...what do we do?" meowth asked "do we...keep doing on what we're doing or...?" he asked
"umm...i don't know..." jessie says not sure
"me neither" james says also not sure
"...well...i say we keep doing on we're doing" meowth says "it's our destiny to snatch pikachu/help that twerp and we are doing a great job at it" he says with courage as he sat up
"yeah you're right" jessie says happily sitting up "we are now officialy the twerps personal team rocket" she says
"i think we were that from the beginning" james says last one to sit up and he was scratching his cheek
"oh yeah...but still" jessie says
meowth and james just shrug and cheer with jessie then meowth rememberers the talk he had with pikachu last night
"hey guys, you know that togepi that the twerp has?" meowth says and the adults nod "well it turns out that the togepi thinks the twerp and the pink hat twerpette are her parents" he explains "that's why they have it"
"i think that twerp is growing up to fast" james says "he's meant to be 10 not 25"
"same but it is cute" jessie says with a shrug then she goes into fantasyland "imagine us finding a baby pokemon and it thinks i'm it's mother, i'll be so happy and i hope it'll be a cute pokemon like a skitty or a igglybuff" she rambles and keeps rambling
"there she goes again" meowth says not suprised
"by the way, where did you get that togepi info from?" james asks
"well...i...talked to pikachu while you and jessie were asleep together" meowth says rubbing his head
"oh? what else did he tell you?" james asks curious
"umm...oh! he also told me that him with everyone else is starting to think that the twerp and the pink hat twerpette are falling in love with each other" meowth says not interested in that info much "and pikachu is happy that twerp is caring for another person"
"that's nice...i guess" james says with a shrug and that point jessie stops rambling
"ok, let's get our plan ready to capture pikachu" jessie says and she goes off to the meowth balloon
james and meowth then follow kinda not wanting to but they had to listen to her since she was the leader, back with the kids and they finally made it to a pokemon center, they got their pokemon healed up and now they were letting their pokemon chill in the garden of the center, serena and ask we're with the pokemon while clemont and bonnie went to stock up supplies
"this is a very lovely garden" serena says amazed by all the flowers in the flower patches and the big field next to it where the pokemon were playing and chilling
"it is nice" ash replies who was next to serena but he was looking at serena
meanwhile togepi, pikachu and sylveon were playing around in the field having a great time with a ball when the ball was accidently hit into the woods that was by the field
"togepree~" 'i get it~' togepi says then run into the forest after it
"pi pi pi! pika!" 'togepi! wait!" pikachu says and he run in after the baby leaving sylveon on her own
meanwhile team rocket were hiding at the side of the pokemon center watching all the pokemon, meowth then spots pikachu run into the forest after togepi
'hmm...i wonder where pikachu is off too' meowth thought and he decides to follow them leaving jessie and james
togepi was happily following the ball and when it stops she picks it up, she then hears noises and she starts looking around for the noises, pikachu then joins her
"pi pi pi, pi pika pi pika pika pi" 'togepi, please don't run of like that' pikachu says "pikachu pi' "you scared me' he added as he rubbed togepi's head
"toge..." 'sorry...' togepi says apologetically
"pi...pikachu" 'sigh...it's ok' pikachu says in relief "pika...pika pi pika pikachu pi pika" 'come on...ash and serena are waiting' he says holding his paw out
togepi take it and they start walking out of the forest but then they were stopped by the appearnce of meowth
"pika?" 'meowth?' pikachu says suprised to see the cat without his human friends
"yeah, it's me" meowth says in a annoyed tone
"toge?" 'who's that?' togepi asks pikachu
"pika pi pikachu pika pika pikachu pi pika pi pi pika" 'that is meowth from team rocket, they like to take me give me to their boss' pikachu explains
"not anymore, we've giving up on taking you to the boss" meowth says "now we just want to be there"
"pika?" 'okay?' pikachu says not sure on what to think on this new change
meowth then explains to pikachu what him, james and jessie were talking about eariler and then pikachu understood
"pika...pika pi pikachu pi" 'ok...what are you going to do now then?' pikachu asks
"umm..." meowth says trying to think but then he was suprised when togepi hugs him "what's she doing?" he asks
"pika pi pikachu pi" 'i think she likes you' pikachu says going over to togepi " pika pi pi pi...pi pika pi pika pikachu pi pika pikachu pika" 'come on togepi...we got to get back to ash and serena before they get worried' he says and picks up togepi
"toge, toge togepree~" 'ok, bye uncle meowth~' togepi says happily and pikachu goes off with togepi
meowth was left stunned on the hug togepi gave him and the fact togepi called him 'uncle', he then felt a happy feeling inside hi and he then snaps out of his happy thought then goes back to his friends, when pikachu gets back he was met by sylveon
"sylveon sylv, sylv sylveon sylveon" 'i'm glad you're back, i was worried sick' sylveon says in a worried tone
"pika...pikachu pika pi pika pikachu" 'sorry...but now ash and serena won't be worried that togepi went missing' pikachu says and puts the baby down
togepi then runs over to ash and serena to tell then what happened, serena then spots togepi and she smiles
"oh hello togepi" serena says picking up the baby pokemon
"to-to!" 'mama!' togepi says happily then snuggles serena
"what's up togepi" ash says next to serena and togepi smiles at him
"pr-pr! 'papa!' togepi says happily snuggling into ash's hand as he was petting her
togepi then explained to ash and serena on what happened eariler to her, pikachu and meowth and they were happily trying to understand, meanwhile jessie and james were still thinking of a plan to capture the pokemon when they see meowth return with a happy face
"what's made you so happy?" jessie asks seeing meowth
"oh nothing...it's just now i'm togepi's uncle and she gave me a hug" meowth says feeling proud "i'm so happy i feel apart of something"
"good for you now can you help us with a plan to capture all these pokemon" jessie says annoyed
"i don't feel like it after what happened" meowth says with a smile "...and from the looks of it, jimmy doesn't want to neither" he says pointing to james
jessie looks at james and he ended up falling asleep agent the wall, jessie was mentally angry but she couldn't bring herself to be fully angry so she sighs and she sits next to james
"fine! we won't catch the pokemon today but we will do it tomorrow" jessie says and she falls asleep with her head on james' shoulder
meowth shrugs and then he snuggles in the middle of the pair before going to sleep himself, back with ash and serena and togepi finished explaining her story
"that's a nice story togepi!" serena says happily even though she didn't really fully understand it
"pree~" 'yay~' togepi says happily
togepi then whimpers as she heard her tummy growl loudly as she was hungry
"aww! are you hungry?" serena says and togepi nods "don't worry, i think clemont and bonnie will be back soon with some food" she says and on queue clemont and bonnie appear
"hey guys!" clemont says sounding tired "we got our supplies" he says holding up a bag
"oh good" serena says "now come, i think it's dinner time"
"oh yeah, i love dinner" ash says happily
"you love eating in general, ash" serena says and ash blushes
"oh yeah i forgot" ash says rubbing the back of his head
"let's go" serena says grabbing ash's hand with her fre hand while the other was holding togepi
all of them then go inside and have a tummy filling meal, they then went to bed and in the night both ash and serena had a dream about each other which made them blush when they woke up the next morning

(i forgot to mention that unlike misty's togepi, this togepi is smaller by being 20cm to the usual foot tall togepi and she also has more red triangles then blue triangle on her shell, anyway i hope you enjoyed and read my other amourshipping one as this is a little series)
