Thomas and the Magic Railroad 2: Lily's Return (part 3)

Lily's POV

I was walking along the twisting, turning tracks finishing one of my apples. I hoped that I'd be able to make it to a familiar landmark like the windmill, or possibly Brendon Docks. Suddenly I heard something clank. I knew the sound of that clank all too well; it could only have come from the large metal claw of Diesel 10! Not knowing weather or not he's changed for the better, I ran and hid. I ducked down behind a thick tree trunk as I heard the rattle of Diesel 10's wheels. I peeked out from behind the tree but quickly ducked back behind it. I was right; it was Diesel 10 coming this way! Fortunately, Diesel 10 rolled right on by without even looking my way, which I was very great-full for. Diesel 10's back-up diesels, Splatter and Dodge, slowly rolled up to him. They didn't look too happy to be taking orders from Diesel 10 again, and I couldn't blame them. They're likely only following him because he threatened the twin diesels with his large claw, which Diesel 10 nicknamed "Pinchy." "Alright you two!" Diesel 10 yelled, "I've got a new mission for you, Splodge!" "Actually it's Splatter" Splatter said, "And Dodge," Dodge said as his diesel body trembled. "I don't have time to say both of your names! I'm on the search for a Conductor," Diesel snapped. He must have been talking about Mr. Conductor or Junior! I didn't want to believe that the conniving Diesel 10 was up to his old tricks again, but the situation at hand was beginning to say otherwise. "Oh! You mean Mr. Conductor?" Dodge said, "Or Junior?" Splatter implied, "neither!" Diesel 10 snapped, Pinchy just inches from the diesel's faces. His face returned to that conniving smile. I shivered, just his creepy smile was enough to scare me! I looked down at the whistle I was holding, "Is this the whistle that belonged to the conductor that Diesel 10 is after?" I thought to myself. "At least not yet," Diesel said finishing his sentance. "I overheard that blue puffball say that there's gonna be a new conductor, a protector for those steamies." "Blue puffball" obviously meant Thomas in Diesel 10's opinion. "Twinkle Toes said" "Twinkle Toes" wasn't anything new either, anyone who knew Mr. C knew that Diesel 10 would much prefer to call his nemeses "Twinkle Toes." I slightly rolled my eyes, Diesel 10 had mean nicknames for all those who annoyed him the most: Mr. C, Junior, Thomas, Toby, Splatter and Dodge. Even my Grandpa had shared an old nickname Diesel 10 used to call him before Mr. Stone took Lady into hiding: Rusty Boulder. I continued to listen in on Diesel 10's conversation. "that the new conductor is lost somewhere on the island. Those steam engines are already searching for the new twinkle toes, however I plan to find him or her first!" I was getting scared, "The poor conductor must be terrified! Out there on his or her own! He or she may not even know his or her way around the landmarks of the island!" I thought. "There must be at least a thousand people on the island!" Splatter insisted, "Yeah! How will ya know who it is? Hmm?" Dodge asks. Diesel 10 smirks his evilly classic smirk and says, "If I'm right, the conductor of the new, purple whistle is the only one who can actually use it's magic. Whoever has the whistle is our conductor!" Diesel 10's claw clanked, "Once I capture him or her, I'll offer to trade him or her for that twinkly steamie, Lady!" Diesel 10 cackled. My worst fears have been realized! Diesel 10 was out to rid him of the steam team again! I looked down at the whistle in my palm. Earlier, I blew on the whistle and it worked...was I the new conductor?! "It couldn't possibly be me! Could it?!" I thought. Just in case, I started to back up away from the tracks, so I'd be out of Diesel 10's reach. but I made the horrible yet classic mistake of accidentally stepping on a twig! "Sn-ap!" I was absolutely petrified! Everything seemed to move in slow motion as I watched Diesel chuff backwards until I was in his sights; I was spotted.

Diesel 10's POV

I looked at the girl, frozen on the spot. I feel like I've seen her somewhere...Then I dawned on me that I have indeed seen her before! It was that meddlesome granddaughter of Burnett: Lily! That meddlesome human is the reason that Lady came back to Sodor which saved the railway in the first place! Plus she's best friends with puffball! Even worse! Then I looked down at the petrified girl's palm, where the purple whistle was dangling from. It all clicked together, I smiled and dramatically clanked Pinchy. "So Lily's the new twinkle toes! This could get interesting." I said as I smirked wider. 

Lily's POV

I did not like the look on Diesel's face! It reminded me way too much of the first time, and only time I got a good look at him. I started to back away slowly. Diesel 10 opened his huge, metal claw to grab me! It creaked as it lunged at me! But I managed to move just inches out of its path. I ran away from the tracks as fast my legs would go. I felt them thumping hard against the grass as I ran. I didn't look back, but I managed to hear Diesel 10 growl. I just barely got out of his reach in time! I didn't dare stop for a breath, I would run until I had no energy left to run! Behind me I could hear Diesel 10 yell, "You can't hide forever, Lily Stone! I'll have you in my claw before you even know I'm close!" I didn't stop nor turn around but I replied, "We'll see about that you evil diesel!" I smirked, I actually bested Diesel 10!...This time at least.

Diesel 10's POV 

"So" I said, clanking Pinchy in thought. "Lily, the meddlesome human is a twinkle toes now. This might just work better than I thought it would." I smirked and drove back up to Splodge, who were waiting on me to finish talking to them.  "I've got a new plan!" I said clanking Pinchy a little harder. "I'll catch that meddlesome human! Then I'll make old, sad, Burnett Stone trade Lady for his goodie two-shoes granddaughter!" I cackled. "So, uh, boss," Splatter said, I frowned, I was running out of patience for those two, but I needed them right now. Dodge continued, "Who exactly are we looking for again?" I grinned and said, "Keep your eyes open for a cream colored girl with long brown hair. She's wearing a purple shirt and baggy pants. She's got the conductor's whistle. And her name...is Lily." I cackled as Splodge quickly drove off to find her. Pinchy clanged as I continued to cackle. Pinchy's clang echoed across the valley ahead. I drove off quickly, I had a meddlesome new conductor to catch.

Burnett Stone's POV

Frantically looking for Lily, I went into the guest room. There was gold dust dusted very lightly on the bed; that could only mean one thing, Lily was on Sodor. Lily's parents went back to their house to search for Lily down there; so it was up to me to save Lily. I hiked up to Muffle Mountain, to Lady's cave, where Lady was fortunately, already waiting. "Lady! I need you to take me to Sodor!" I said as I held up a satchel packing for about a few hours trip. "Why, Burnett? What's wrong?" Lady asked worried, "Lily is missing! And I think that she may have been transported to Sodor by gold dust!" As if I had to say anymore, Lady blew her whistle "WHOO! WHOO!" I got inside and Lady drove me down the magic Railroad. I had to find Lily or her mom and dad were gonna kill me! Figuratively of course, but still.
