Special thanks to everyone for joining our discussions!

Welcome!

This week's discussion will be focusing on an American writer who wrote under multiple pseudonyms and eventually using her own name: Louisa May Alcott (1832 - 1888).

It wasn't until 1865, she published short stories under her real name in magazines like Merry's Museum. In 1868, her bestseller Little Women was published. The story provided financial stability and demand for more books, which lead to Little Men, Eight Cousins, and Jo's Boys.

This discussion welcomes any questions, interests in asking and talking about specific writings and her personal life, what cultural aspects might have influenced her as a writer, and many more.

Our discussion question for this week is:

With a new adaptation movie coming out at the end of this month, let's go back to when you read Little Women for the first time. What was your experience? Did you throw the book across the room? Cry over a specific scene? What element do you hope the new adaption movie will focus on? The sisters' bond? Their desires and wishes?

We enjoy reading your responses! We welcome any other discussion or comments about Louisa May Alcott.

If you have another author you'd like to see a discussion on please leave it in the comments below for a chance to be featured in a future chapter.

And as always, have fun!
