Quirkless, Not Powerless

"Are you sure you have everything?" Inko was so fidgety you could mistaken her for vibrating in her worry. "Yes Mom, are you sure you're ok?" Izuku was nervous, but rather excited, for his first day at U.A. and to possibly see the two boys he had befriended at the entrance exam. "You two are both vibrating." Niji puts a hand on Inko's back and on Izuku's shoulder. "I bet you'll be fine, Izuku! Go ahead and get out there, go find yourself a boyfriend too. Or a girlfriend. You're Bi, like Inko, right?" Izuku snorts and gently slaps Niji's hand off of him, "Yeah, yeah," That kind of sounded like Shota but who cares, "I should be going now. I'll see you two after school!" Izuku takes his chance to rush out of the apartment door, an excited smile on his face.

U.A. is a very large building on the outside, something Izuku had realized at the Recommendation's exam, and on the inside. The ceiling on every floor was high, and the doors were massive. 'Preparing for the possibility of a size manipulating quirk or a size mutation quirk. 1-A should be just ahead on this floor, if I'm remembering the map of the building on the first floor right.' Sure enough Izuku was right. He didn't think many people would be there, he shown up 15 minutes early, but when he opens the door he sees 3 people there to stare. One is a tall, angular, boy he doesn't know but the other two are his new friends. "Hey there! Didn't think you two were ones to show up so early." Izuku shut the door and approached the three that were probably talking to each other before he had walked in. Inasa stood from the desk he was sitting at, a seat in front of the back corner, and excitedly replied "Midoriya-kun! Isn't it amazing that the three of us got put in the same class!?" Shouto nods from the desk right of the one in the back corner, "We saved a seat for you in case." He gestures to the desk that sits in the back corner. 'They decided they would be surrounding me, huh?' "I'm Iida Tenya." The blue haired boy bows to Izuku, 'he seems like a stiffer Yoarashi.' "Midoriya Izuku." "Are you also a recommendation student?" "Yeah. I came in third, right behind these two, during the practical." Izuku sits on his desk as his two recommendation classmates sit back down in their seats. He sees Tenya stiffen up slightly, but the boy doesn't say anything and instead takes a seat at the desk diagonal of Izuku and right of Inasa.

The four have some small talk. Izuku eventually sits in his seat, which makes Tenya visibly relax a little, and takes out his Hero analysis notebook. "So what are your guys' quirks? I didn't really get to see them at the exam, and I just met you." "Mine is called Whirlwind!" Inasa enthusiastically answers, "It allows me to completely control the air around me!" Izuku jots down the info on a fresh page, deciding that sketching the boys would wait. "My quirk is Engine, I have engines in my calfs that allow me to run at extraordinary speeds." "So your set to be the next Iida Family hero, huh?" Izuku asks happily, making the bluenette blush faintly in embarrasment. "Y-yes, I guess that is so." "Hey, being from a hero family is nothing to be embarrassed of." Izuku says to Iida. Shouto shrugs at Izuku's words. "My quirk is called Half-hot Half-cold. I can create ice from my right side and fire from my left, though I don't use the fire often." Izuku nods as he furiously scribbles the notes down, deciding to not ask about his flames since he has a good guess as to why. "You all have top tier quirks! Thats amazing!" "What is your quirk, Midoriya?" Shouto asks. Tenya and Inasa nod, Tenya then reaffirming, "Yes, I would also like to know." Izuku shrugs, "I don't got one." ...

"Wait, how did you get third in the practical!?"
To be honest, Tenya's response made Izuku tear up a little. It wasn't 'Why are you here!?' It wasn't 'That's horrible!' It wasn't 'How did you get recommended!?' It was just a question of his placement in the practical. "Guess the other kids didn't have movement quirks."

At this point almost every seat was filled. It was almost time for class to start. "That blue hair and angular body! Your the kid who saved me!" A bubbly girl bounces over to Tenya and takes the open seat to his right. With everyone now in class, T-chan now shows the seating chart to the reader:
