Chapter 5: Screams

Blood and dust... All that the monster could think about. Blood. And. Dust...

"I-I'm sorry..." She cried, facing them with her hands limp and touching the ground as the kneeled.

"You better be!" Kris yelled, not that it helped anything. The ax had brought down Lancer's HP by 537, way more than usual! How, though? How could she hurt him, her first real friend? How did she even deal that much damage with one single swing? So many questions, unanswered...

"Kris! Leave her alone!" Ralsei yelped, Lancer still trying to get up.

"She deserves it, Ralsei! You know that! How much HP did he even lose?"

"Um... About, 537?!?!"

"Oh my-" he was cut off by Lancer trying to get up, and doing it, finally. Walking up to Susie, he sighed, looking at his wound as well.

"Susie, it's okay! I'm fine!" He reassured her, tears starting to form in her eyes as pain surged through.

"Lancer, I'm really sorry. I-I didn't mean to, I don't know what came over me! Will you ever forgiv-"

"Of course! Stop beating yourself up now! I should be saying that I'm sorry! I got just a little bit too curious there, sorry..."

Susie smiled softly, then grasped her head, mainly the right side. She grunted in pain as it came back, fully taking control of her and forcing her to feel it, instead of pushing it away like usual.

"Uh, Susie? A-are you okay?" Ralsei looked towards her after finishing his argument with Kris.

"N-no..." She whispered, clearly something was happening, but she tried as hard as she could to hold back a scream. No one could tell what was wrong that way.

"Do something! Quick!" Lancer called to Ralsei.

"Where does it hurt, Susie?" Ralsei ran up and knelt down beside her. She simply refuses to answer as her pupils diolate.

She couldn't stop herself. The pain was building up and soon pretty much MADE her cry out and scream. This scared everyone, even Kris who normally showed no emotions for Susie's suffering.

"Ohmigosh! What's going on?!?! Can you tell us, please!" Ralsei slightly shakes her, as if she was dying right then and there and he was pleading 'don't you die on me!'. She was met with a look of pure pity.

It was a few moments later, Lancer sat at Susie's side, gently rubbing her back as she hugged him closely. He returned the hug as she admitted to him her pain. Ralsei and Kris were discussing the next course of action, what would happen with her and how they could help and stuff.

"Lancer, it hurts. More than I can explain to you..." Susie finally said, crying a bit.

"It's alright, Susie. You're going to be okay. Your very strong, you know. It took you a while to tell us this. But, could you maybe tell me why it hurts?"

Susie calmed down a little at hearing this, "thanks, dude. But, I'll explain it later, okay?"

"Fine..."

Ralsei finally returned with medical supplies, speaking gibberish as he thought of what to give her for this. The pain would never stop, though, and she knew that. She never told anyone about her problems and hurt, until now that is. They never tried to pressure her or press for an answer, only asking once. Finally, she confessed the main problems.

"...and here we are!" She concluded after telling the other three about her life in the past week or so. Everyone was pretty shocked to hear that her dad was in jail and she ripped apart her soul. The worst part was that she hid it for so long, though they could have helped, definitely.

"I kinda live on my own now, also." She admitted, rubbing her arm with her other hand.

"Wow. If you want to, you can stay at my place for a while?" Kris offered, kind for him.

"Heh, sure. I just gotta grab some stuff from my house, and I'll be over after a few minutes, 'kay?"

"Okay! See you there, then!" With that, the two lighters said their goodbyes and headed out for their world...

"W-wait!" Ralsei stopped them. "Susie, take these, okay? Your gonna need them!" It was a pill bottle with pain medicine inside of it. It had very direct instructions so that she wouldn't take too much, or not take enough.

"Oh, thanks Ralsei! See ya two later!" Susie smiled and walked away. Not that I'll need or take it, she thought, but nice!

After stopping by her place, Susie made it to Kris'. She carried only what she needed most, and though she forgot her right side of her soul, she didn't mind. She forgot, anyways. Nothing she could do until she remembered, right? She stepped up to the house and found Kris waiting for her...
