As the thunder booms and the lightning strikes, a small boat holding even smaller cargo struggles to stay afloat on a restless ocean. A young girl, no older than nine, pulls her blanket tighter around her as the fear of her little lifeboat sinking continues to grow with every wave that seems to try to drag her under into the deep blue. Salty water covers her head from to toe as the water continual splashes her and as she cries till she cannot. She lost her home, her family and now she may lose what little she has left, her own life. Though at this moment that doesn't seem like such a bad thing, even if she manages to survive all this, what kind of life would be waiting for her when she does find land. Her family and friends were hunted for what they were, and she was no different, she still feels the sourness from the many bruises that cover her small form. Before everything happened, she tried to always see the good, as her mother told her to and with her mother's words she avoided negative emotion, anger, sadness, and fear. When she was younger, her grandfather always tried to scare her with stories dangerous creatures that live at the bottom of the sea, he always said that they came up during stormy nights to find their next meal, but she never let his stories scare her. Her father told her if she was brave enough, he would take her to see the world, so she showed no fear, but now her father isn't here, and the stories seem all too real.

The little (h/c) haired girl raised her head to see what looked like land, she crawled to the front of her boat for a better look, but at that moment a wave came crashing down on top of her and broke her little boat in half. She knows how to swim but it's hard to keep her head above water when the waves keep coming and each kick takes more effort than the last. As another wave hits her she closes her eyes and lets herself sink.

A thirteen-year-old boy with purple hair walks along the beach after a storm to see if anything new was brought with it. As he walks a finds the remains of the small broken boat and walks around it he finds a small girl covered in bruises passed out in the sand. He runs up to her and tries to wake her up. She slowly opens her (e/c) eyes to see the boy.

"Hey, what's your name? Where are your parents?" the boy asks her, she only cries and uses what little strength she has to try to get away from him. He picks her up and starts to walk back home. As he walks home he hears the girl beg him not to hurt her before she passed out again.

Time Skip! One Year!

(y/n) POV~

It's been a little more than a year now since Sin found me and almost two months since he left for that stupid dungeon. We had grown close in such a short time, he always made jokes that I am his little sister. He gave me a place to stay and I told him about my homeland, it didn't seem fair but he loved the stories I told him. When he told me that he was going I wanted to come with but I knew someone had to take care of Esra. she is such a kind woman, when I first came here I was so scared, but she helped me through everything. I know her time is coming, just hope Sin comes back in time to see her.

"(y/n), thank you for taking care of me, I know you don't like being inside for so long" Esra barely gets out. She has trouble even breathing let alone talking.

"It's the least I can do for you, you have taken care of me for the past year and I know it wasn't easy. You've acted like a mother to me even when I didn't deserve it" I tell her remembering when I first came here, I was so scared they were going to hurt me I even tried stealing from them and running, but Esra stopped me.

"I remember when you finally started to trust me and you told me about your home. That night you gave me a necklace and you told me to sell it so Sin could buy Medicine for me. I never could sell it, it's all you had left of your family, but you were willing to give it up because a woman you had known for only a month was ill" she chuckles a bit at the end before going into a coughing fit. She reaches to her neck and pulls out the necklace I gave her a year ago, it's a rare stone only found on the Dartshira island, my home. She placed in my hands, I felt the tears coming, I hear footsteps at the door and turn to see Sin. I stand and walk over to where the other women are standing, I can hear Sin and his mother talking but I focus on not crying. When Esra goes limp in Sin's arms I can't hold it back and start crying silent tears. After a few minutes, I feel someone hug me, I know it's Sin and I hug him tighter.

"Sin... why are you carrying a half-naked lady?" I ask him as he jumps on the boat.

"This is the Princess and she is our hostage for now," he tells me like that is normal and throw s her on the deck before he sets sail. I stare at him like he has gone crazy, but don't say anything. I gotta get used to this if I'm going to help him change the world.
