{ So I made Nikki's band London stay together until '81 instead of splitting in '80. It helps with the flow of the fic. Enjoy!}
(1981. Hollywood. Sunset strip)
Rebel watched as the world passed by out the window of the greyhound bus. She had a few more hours until she'd be on the sunset strip. She needed to get away, she had to run and if anyone on earth could under stand that, it was her cousin Frank. He had gotten out when he was younger, he'd gotten away from situations that Rebel herself were in now. She knew if she wanted to live- really live, then she needed to find Frank.
The bus came to a stop, the loud air breaks waking the teenager from her nap. She blinked sitting upright, people were getting off the bus. The lights were bright on the strip, and the sidewalks and streets crowed. She jumped up with a wide smile on her face, grabbing her few bags, she jumped down the steps and took it all in.
A few guys made cat calls as she stood in front of some bar. Rolling her eyes she headed for the closest building she could get into, needing to use the bathroom and a phone.
The gas station was a dump, but better than nothing. A few bikers looked her over when she stepped inside. "Bathroom?" She asked looking to the man behind the register. "Ya gonna buy something kid?" She sighed, and picked a pack of gum up, before slamming it on the bar. It was only 25 cents. "Bathroom?" She asked again. When he only gave her a look, she sighed. "Look man, I've spent forever on a stupid crowed bus and I'm about to pee myself! Please."
The man nodded to the right. "Down the little hall. Girls rooms busted." She tossed the money on the counter for the gum, and started for the restroom. When she tried to open the door, it got slammed back. "Occupied dude!" She sighed and sat on a box. After a few minutes she huffed and knocked. "I said no!" The guys voice yelled. Rebel rolled her eyes, how long could it take for a guy to pee? But when she heard a girls voice from inside the bathroom, Rebel groaned. "Really?" She started beating on the door. "Some people really have to use it for what it's for! Not sex dude!" But when all that was heard was moaning, she gave up.
"You got a phone?" She asked looking up at the guy. "Nope." Rolling her eyes she went to get her stuff, only to see it missing. "Where'd my bags go!?" She turned to the bikers and worker. "Not my problem." The man said while the bikers ignored her completely. "Oh- Come on!" She stomped out of the gas station and started down the sidewalk.
She came to a pay phone outside under a streetlight. She picked the yellow book up and started looking for Frankie, but when she couldn't find anyone in the book by her cousins name, she slammed the phone down and started walking again.
"Okay maybe you didn't think this as through as you thought." She said to herself. Her bags were stollen, she had no money and no idea how to find her cousin.
Rebel was woken up by someone shaking her. She jumped looking up at a boy with long hair and worried eyes. "Wow babe, easy." He said looking her over after she jumped and sat up on the sidewalk. Her eyes wide looking the shirtless man over. He had something in his hand and Rebel thought for sure he was going to stab her. After he had his way with her.
"You alright?" He asked looking her over again. "I'm not gonna hurt ya, I'm Tommy, Tommy Lee." He said holding his hand out for a shake. Rebel blinked looking the tall boy over. "R-Rebel." She said shaking his hand. "Nice nickname. Are you- like did you sleep here?" He asked looking around the street. "Yea. I have been awhile now." Rebel said running her hands in her hair. Since she could never find Frank, she'd spent the last week on the streets alone. "Look, me and my girl were just on our way to get something to eat- you wanna come with?" Rebel blinked looking at the dark haired girl standing a little behind Tommy.
