Little Graduation

Steven's P.O.V
I got in my car to head over to Lars's pastry shop. I put in a tape cassette that was Sadie killer and the suspects. I love her band so much. "Teens by day! Hey! We're alright! Teens by day! But every night we're! Sadie killer and the suspects!" I sang along with the music. It gets me in such a happy mood. I got to Lars's pastry shop and I walk in. "Hey Blue Lace." I greeted her as I waved at her. But she was too busy making cakes that she slammed the rolling pin down and some flour flew in the air. I coughed to get rid of the flour. I look to see Lars at the counter. "Hey Lars!" I greeted him. "Hey Steven. Here to pick up the cake?" Lars asked me. "Yeah but I also want to see how you're doing." I told Lars. Then the doorbell jingle alerts ya that someone came and it was Sadie. "Hey Steven. Hi Lars." Sadie said as she came our way. "Sadie! Oh my gosh! I can't remember the last time we've been together in a pastry establishment." I said. "Hey Sadie I got your moon cakes." Lars said as he handed her a box with a crescent moon on the sides. "Thanks." Sadie said to Lars. "Sure. So how are things goon with Shep?" Lars asked. "Huh? Shep?" I asked. "Great! They're so cool! I can't believe we've been dating for about two months now. Everything just feels so easy." She said. "That's awesome. Say hi to them for me." Lars said. "Will do! We'll see you later!" She said as she left the shop. "Yeah!" Lars called out. Sadie then closed the door behind her. "What was that?! And who is Shep?!" I asked a bit angry. "Shep is Sadie's new partner. She met them when she was touring with the suspects. It's cool." Lars said cooly. "Is it?!" I asked. "Yes it is!" Lars exclaimed. "Besides I'm leaving anyways. Now that the Off Colors are done with school we can go back to space!" Lars said proudly. I gasped. Why would Lars leave?! "But what about the shop?" I asked him. "I asked Blue Lace to take over. I'm ready to move on. You get it right? You finished setting up the school. Don't you want to try something new? What about (Y/n)?" Lars asked me. I thought about it for a moment. And I realized he's right. But my train of thought was gone as Lars spoke up. "Oh looks like the graduation cake is ready. I'll see you tonight Steven. And you should bring (Y/n) along." Lars said. "Yeah." I said to him as I headed out. I drove back home with a lot on my mind. I got out of my car and went up the stairs to my home. I open the door to hear humming coming from the kitchen. I see who's there and it's (Y/n). I went up behind her and I grabbed her by her waist and pulled her towards me for a hug. I heard her yelp. She turned to see who it is and she just saw me. "Steven don't scare me like that." She said. "I know but I couldn't resist." I chuckled at her statement. "So today is the graduation of the off colors isn't that exciting?" She asked me with a smile on her face. My smile then faded when she said that. She must have noticed because then she stopped cooking. "Hey is everything ok dear?" She asked me. "N-No not really. Sadie found a partner and I think Lars is sad."
I told her sadly. She then hugged me. "It's ok Steven everything will be fine." She said. She then kissed my cheek. "(Y/n)?" I asked her. "Yes?" She replied. "Will you come with me to the graduation I really don't want to be alone. Besides maybe I can introduce you to Sadie." I asked her. "Sure wait Sadie doesn't know that we're dating?" She said. "W-W-Well I wanted to keep it a secret but I guess it's ok." I said while blushing. She giggled and ruffled my hair. "Aren't you just the cutest." She said. I laughed as I picked her up bridal style and I twirled her around. "Waahhhh Steven put me down!! You're going to drop me!!!" She yelled as she was clinging onto me. I stopped twirling her around and I kissed her. We pulled away a little while after. "Well we should get going." I told her as I put her down. But I held onto her hand as we went to my car. We headed towards the beach which was where the graduation party was being held. "I'll be back (Y/n) just gotta announce the graduates ok." I said to her as I kissed her cheek. I went up to the stage where the Off colors were at.
(Y/n)'s P.O.V
Steven is at the stage to make his speech for the off colors who are graduating tonight. "We're all proud to see our graduates evolve and be there for each other as everyone moves on bigger and better things. And new and exciting places. Except for me, I'll still be right here." He said the last part sadly. He looks around the crowd for me. And I just smile and give him a thumbs up. "Alright graduates move those tassels!" Steven exclaims. Then all of the off colors move then to the right. Except Padparadscha so Rhodonite had to do it for her. "And with that let's give them a hearty congraduations!" Steven exclaims. Then they throw their hats up on the air. Steven gets off the stage and he comes to me. He hugs me and I hug back. "So are you going to introduce me to Sadie?" I asked him. "Yeah sure come on." He said as he grabbed my hand and we went to search for Sadie. We found Sadie not so far away from the stage. "Hey Sadie!" Steven exclaimed. I saw Sadie but she was with another person. I'm guessing that's her partner. "Oh hey Steven I don't think you had a chance to meet my new partner." Sadie said. "Hey I'm Shep it's cool to finally meet you." Shep said as they shakes hands with Steven. "Well guess what Sadie?" Steven asked her. "What?" Sadie asked. "I've got someone I'd like for you too meet." Steven said nervously.
"Oh great where are they?" She asked. Steven just grabbed me and pulled me with him. "T-This is
(Y/n). M-My girlfriend." Steven stuttered as he introduced me. I wave to Sadie. Sadie then gets a big grin on her face. "Soo this is the reason you've been so busy lately to be with her." Sadie teased Steven. Steven blushes and looked away. I decided to speak up. "So how long have you two been dating?" I asked nicely. "For about 2 months." Sadie said. "You know a lot of people say 'You don't really know someone until you've been stranded on an island with them." Steven spoke. I look at him with confusion. "People say that?" Shep asks. "Yeah." Steven replied. "But honey we've never been-" I get cut off as Steven hugs me and laughs nervously. "Hahaha oh you're so funny (N/n)." He says. I just hug back. "Well me and Sadie are gonna go grab some cake before we go on at 7." Shep said. "Yeah." Sadie said as she giggled. "Wait Sadie isn't that when your singing with the suspects?" Steven asked.
"Actually I was thinking on doing a song with Shep." Sadie said. "Oh uh cool can't wait to hear it." Steven said. "Well catch ya later Steven, (Y/n)." Shep said as they left with Sadie. I waved bye and I look to Steven. He seemed a bit sad. "Honey are you ok." I asked him. "Yeah yeah I'm fine." He reassured me. Steven just looks at where they went off too. Lars then comes up behind him. Steven puts his hand on his chest to stop him from walking to where Sadie and Shep are. "I wouldn't go over there right now." Steven said. "Is something wrong with the cake?" Lars asked. "What No no Sadie and Shep are over there." Steven said. "Oh cool I'll go say hi to them." Lars said as he walked to their direction. "Hold on! Are you ok?" Steven asked. "Yeah are you ok?" Lars said. "Why wouldn't I be." Steven said. I just put my head on his shoulder. He looked and he smiled a bit. He then went with Jenny to talk for a bit. I headed out to see how Shep and Sadie are. "Hey guys how are y'all?" I asked. "Oh (Y/n) hey were great thanks for asking." Sadie said. "You know I've got to admit you guys are very cute together." I told her. Sadie and Shep begin to blush. "Thanks." Sadie said. "So how are you and Steven?" Sadie asked. "It's like I'm on cloud nine." I said dreamily. I heard both of them giggle. "Well shouldn't you guys get going. You know for your show." I told them. "Oh yeah we better get going. See ya later (Y/n)." They said. I waved and I started walking to the crowd. I see Steven there at the stage. "Hey! I-Is everyone having a good time tonight?" Steven said into the microphone. Many people cheered. "Who here likes Sadie Killer and the Suspects?" Steven said. The crowd went even more wild. "Well our band tonight only has one of them." Steven said nervously. "So yeah here's um...what's your band named again?" Steven asked Sadie. "We don't have one yet." Sadie replied. "Oh w-well you should've asked me. I'm good at naming bands." Steven said sadly as he walked off the stage. "Hey guys this is just a little something Shep and I have been working on together and I hope you like it." Sadie said. Steven then came next to me and he leaned on me. I just hug him to make him feel better. He sighs and he smiles at me. We pull apart to see how Sadie and Shep are doing. Then a beautiful melody comes in.
