"Let me call you back Jody."

"Duh." He looked at me stupidly hanging the phone up.
"You gone get caught up again, I'm telling you that nigga ain't nothing but trouble." I told him.

"You need to list- why is you taking a picture of me." I pouted covering my face.
"Girl nobody worried about you taking a picture of my child"
I looked at him blankly taking me shirt off, "It's hot"

"RJ!" I shooked him as somebody banged on the door.
He jumped up as the door busted open, "Poilce!"
My eyes went wide jumping up too, "Shit"
The police ran into his room, "Hands up!"
RJ looked at me as I stared at him.
"Bae why you bleeding!" He yelled.
"What?" I asked him confused crying.
The officer let go of my hand, "We need an ambulance at 2353 Gillmore"
I look down of the floor seeing blood stains.

"You did this shit bitch, set my fucking son up!" RJ mom yelled running towards me.
"Momma chill."RJ held her back.
"Why they here?" I looked at my dad confused.
"Shirley died this morning they let him out to say his goodbyes." He told me handing me my food.
Blinking as the tears starting flowing down my eyes.
The love of my life hates me.
My baby died.
My momma died.
God take me life.

"Yo' Lani in the hospital" Ray told Loui as I worked on my college assignments.
I looked up slowly making sure I heard him right, "You said what?"
"I sholl' wasnt talking to you."
I smacked my lips, "I know what I did was was wrong, I was in a dark place believe me. We knew each other since the sandbox when have you ever seen me act like that?"
He stared at me before nodding, "We'll talk, I think that nigga done did some shit to Lani cause Niecey just called me and said she in the hospital."
After getting out of prison my whole mentality was fucked up. Learning that my mom died made me turn to drugs, hard drugs at that.
Lani was my escape, she was really the only girl that made me do right. When she lost the baby, my mom told me she gave it up. I believed it but at the same time I didn't, when she never came to visit me I was slowly turning against her.
Getting over all the deaths in my fanily was hard but I had to do better for myself.
"J'Lani Fletcher" Ray told the receptionist.
"Um, she is in room 245 but not able to receive visitors.
"What happened?" I asked looking down the hall.
"We can't tell you that but I can go ask her does she want to see y'all, names?"
"Bi- Ray and Jaylen." Ray told her with a mug.
"Hate these hospital bitches" I mumbled.
"Follow me" The nurse came back holding charts.
Me and Ray walked back until she stopped at the closed door and knocked before opening it.
We walked in and I stared at Lani as she stared at the Tv.
Looking at Lani I noticed tears coming out her eyes.
Ray sat in the chair by her bed holding her hand.
The fact that couldn't be me showed me how much I fucked up.
"It's not fair" Lani wined busting out into tears.
The doors opened as a doctor walked in, "Ms. Fletcher as the father arrived yet?"
"No" I spoke up seeing she couldn't talk.
"Well would you still want to hold the baby, we can take foot prints and do the birth certificate."
"Y-yes" Lani barley said.
"Alright."
"What happened?" Ray asked her.
"Whew, when I was packing my stuff in his house he got mad and started throwing everything Ro had to calm him down that's when I just took the little stuff I had then he just started yelling Ray all types of shit. He said he hoped my baby died."
"The fuck is Ro at first off and the baby?"
This dumb ass.
Lani broke down again shaking.
I went to her bedside rubbing her back, "Calm down."
