Just like me (Sans x reader)

~ Chapter 1 ~

It had been a few years since you left the underground and it hasn't been easy. You lived in a orphanage for most of the time but since you were now 21 you were living in a little apartment. Your roommate, Kate, was super chill and didn't really care about anything you did. You just passed collage and was now wondering what to do with your life. You didn't really want to achieve anything in life apart from seeing them again but you promised Sans that you wouldn't jump down intentionally. Today was cold and chilly, it was currently snowing lightly so it was perfect weather to go sledding. After a week of convincing, Kate finally agreed to come with you.
"Do we really have to go up here?" Kate groaned looking up at the mountain which was completely white from snow.
"Yes" you said annoyed. Underneath the blanket of snow you Hadn't realised that the mountain you were currently climbing was Mt. Ebbot, the place where all monsters were trapped. After a few minutes of climbing in silence you finally arrive at the top. As you peer over the side of the mountain you get a breathtaking view of all things surrounding Mt. Ebbot. The whole place looked like it had been blanketed by a giant, fluffy, white sheet. Next to you, you heard Kate gasp.
"I didn't know it would be so beautiful" she sighed "can we stay up here for a bit?" She sat down on the white floor and looked at the view. You nodded and went exploring around the mountain. After a few seconds of looking around you noticed that there was a little cave sat alone, thinking that was pretty abnormal you decided to investigate. When you peered inside you immediately panicked, there was a hole big enough for an adult to fall down. The pit was darker than black and looked like if you fell down you would never reach the bottom. Then something clicked inside your head... wasn't this the exact same way you fell into the underground? But you thought you'd taken a trip up the mountain next to Ebbot. Realising now your mistake you ran to find Kate but as you ran the snow under your boots melted which made you slip and fall... right into the underground....

"Ugh... where am I?" You turn and look around, letting your eyes adjust to the darkness. As you look down your heart jolts out of excitement and anxiety. You fell down. Scrambling up as quickly as you could you began running to the purple arch that was the entrance to the ruins. Running through the ruins desperately trying to find an exit you encounter a small house with a small child and a goat monster playing with the flowers outside. Cautiously you went up to them and immediately gasped. It was Toriel! The queen of monsters!
"Queen Toriel?" You asked confused. The tall mother-like monster turned to face you and instantaneously covered her mouth and gasped.
"Y-Y/N, is that you my child?" You nodded and gave Toriel a hug, she hugged back, surprised.
"What an Earth are you doing down here?" She asked still shocked but a stern look showing on her face.
"I-I promise I didn't come here on purpose!" You stutter aghast. Toriel sighs and looks at you
"Well I don't know how happy Sans is going to be about this..."

After greeting Tori again and meeting Frisk (Toriels adopted child), Queen Toriel began filling in everything that happened while you were stuck on the surface. Never once in the conversation did you, or Toriel, mention gaster. Childhood was always a sensitive subject for you considering you had been tested on every single day for 2 years by a man who, you hoped, was now dead. After the long conversation Toriel agreed to take you and frisk to snowdin where there was a 'surprise' waiting for you. As you put back on your Winter clothes, Toriel and frisk got wrapped up in hats, gloves and scarfs. Apparently Snowdin was a lot colder this time of year and would regularly get snow storms which lasted for hours, so it was necessary to get wrapped up. Toriel pushed back the purple doors that was in her basement, the exit to the ruins, and prepared herself for the blast of cold.

After a few minutes of walking through the thick snow your group reached a door, which Frisk hurriedly knocked on. Finally, after a few minutes of waiting in the cold the door opened revealing a blue fish lady who was wearing nothing more than a tank top and shorts. She smiled a big toothy grin and yelled "ITS TORI AND THE PUNK!" Then ran off leaving the door wide open, Toriel and frisk walked in like this was a normal thing. Stepping over the threshold you suddenly felt a large twisting in your stomach, also known as anxiety, you shut the door and looked around talking in your bearings. There was a large green sofa in the middle of the room opposite a coffee table and a large flat tv. On the coffee table sat a rock with a few sprinkles around it, you giggled at the sight and looked up. Looking at the landing you could see four doors, three you thought were probably bedrooms and the fourth one a bathroom. Turning back to the living room you saw a doorway which you could just see a glimpse of the blue fish lady over a stove. You took one final look around before realising that Toriel and Frisk had ran off somewhere. Then you heard a deep voice that cut you out of your thoughts "heya kid, ya lookin for something?" Your head snapped towards the sofa and, smiling back from it was a small skeleton with a blue jacket, white t-shirt, black basketball shorts and pink fluffy slippers. At his sight your eyes instantly started tearing up
"Sans..?" You whispered. Upon hearing your voice Sans also did the same thing
"Y/N...?" You ran over to sans and engulfed him in a huge hug. As you hugged sans tears rolled from your eyes and down your face, landing on sans jacket. When you both finally pulled away you noticed sans was also crying, you gave him a watery smile and wiped the florescent blue tears from his face. Then, suddenly, he grabbed your right hand and inspected it. He turned it over to look at your palm then turned it back the other way before tracing the two scars with his finger. Then he took his hand out and showed it to you. The metal plates were gone, forever. Seeing this made you cry even more. Sans' smile then faulted a bit before finally talking "why are you here?" His voice came out raspy from all the crying
"I accidentally fell down" upon seeing Sans' look you immediately started trying to explain yourself "I promise! I just wanted to go sledding with my roommate and I accidentally fell down! I swear!" Sans finally looked convinced and smiled. He was so happy to see you again and you felt the same. You were just about to say something when your heard a shatter and your head turned towards the suspect. Papyrus was stood there, hands out, with a broken plate of spaghetti between his feet. Papyrus was staring right at you....
