The secrets of a wolf

Chapter One

My name is Jason Latenga and you never know how your life will change until it does. My brother Cason started school already at the nearest highschool. Everyone in our pack is homeschooled till after they complete training and shifting for the first time. The children of the Chief or Alfa go through more training than anyone else. I trained hard becouse I wanted to finish school like my twin is.

It has been almost a month since school started and ever since school started Cason has been off , more kept to himself. I  am so close to being done with training now I just need to take the final training exam. Today is the day, today is the day of the final exam. I prepared for the test that would be in two hours. I scarfed down my lunch before stretching. I ran through the training course again before relaxing for a little bit. I stretched once more as I heard the Chief, my father, howl. I knew it was time as I stood there at the start line my dad spoke "Attention all wolves. The first part of the final will be done on foot not paws when you reach the checkpoint you will shift or you will fail the exam. All wolves except Jason will finish the exam at the banner between the trees that reads finish line while Jason will continue on back through the course. " I stood there wearing shorts and a tank top as I was ready to go.

I heard the chief yell "Go" as the blow horn went off. Every wolf took off running including me. I jumped over the logs and dodged branches. I saw a sign pointing to the tree saying "climb" and I climbed as fast as I could. I jumped from the tree down to a rock before jumping down to the ground. I raced through the course as I focused on going to a real highschool. We reached the checkpoint as I shifted. It felt good to be a wolf. I ran through every obstacle really easily. I saw the other stop and shift back out of breath. I knew we had reached the last checkpoint and I was determined to finish this test strong. I followed the signs and made my way back to the start. As I reached the starting point I saw my father with a stop watch in hand. I stopped at the starting part as he stopped the watch "get him his clothes so he can shift back".

I ran behind a bush before shifting back and  a werewolf whom is apart of my pack handed me clothes. I got dressed before walking over to the chief "did I pass?" he looked at me "you sadly...." I looked down "passed" I howled with joy. I walked back to the house and ran up to my room to take a shower. I will be starting school tomorrow, my first day of public highschool. I heard the dinner howl and I raced downstairs. During dinner I told Cason how I passed the test. After dinner I rushed upstairs I headed straight to bed excited to start my first day. My brother gave me a ride to school and led me to the principal's office before saying goodbye. I knocked on the door "come in" the principal said "Hi. I-I am Jason Latenga the new student." she nodded "ah yes here is your schedule. It is a B day, if you need anything feel free to stop by. Welcome to our school and have a great first day. " I left her office. I walked to my first class as I read the rest of my schedule. My schedule read:

I walked up to my first class and entered. The teacher looked at me and told me where to sit before he spoke "Attention class. Please get your seats and pay attention.We have a new student. Class this is Jason Latenga. " I sat down awkwardly "Students today we will be reading the first part to the new chapter we will be studying. Everyone pass around the hat and chose partner from the hat." I wonder what the purpose of the hat is, it looks like a cowboy hat. I copied what everyone else did and drew a paper from the hat. The hat made it back to the teacher as he spoke "Alright let's get with our partners. " I watched as the first guy who got the hat read the name on his paper and I looked at the paper I got. It had a name on it too and I continued to watch the poeple partner up. It was turn and I read the name out loud "Melony Marksman" I wonder who this person is. A girl I'm guessing is Melony spoke as she stood up "ya." the teacher said "Come here Melony and no smart remarks this time. " she walked up to me " Hey I'm Melony. " she said as she looked at me before I replied "H-hi".  We took our seats and flipped to the page. She began reading as I took notes. As class came to an end the teacher said "alright the notes are due next class and the project is due the class after that" she looked at me and handed me a paper with her number on it before saying goodbye. I figured out where my classes where throught the school day. When the bell rang I texted her "Hey. It's Jason, your partner form Econ class. We need to finish the notes and project so public place or your house ?" she texted back a few seconds later "hey what about your house? My aunt doesn't get off work until 7 pm so yours or public place. " after thinking of a place I responded "Ok definitely not my house. Meet you at the library" she responded "ok see you at the library in 20." I looked at Cason. He looked down at my phone "Please can I go with you. I-I need to get something from the library." I laughed "I know when your lying. You don't need to get something." he looked at me pleading "please can I go? I will give you a ride to and from." I looked at him "You can come but we are only studying and working on a project." he looked at me happily. I wonder what his motives are "I have a condition tho." he grabbed his keys "whatever they are I will abide by them." I grabbed my coat "One you have to tell me why you want to go no lying just the full truth and two you have to tell me why you have been distant lately what secret are you keeping?" he rubbed the back of his neck "I will tell you in the truck". We walked out of the door and headed to thr truck. After he started the car he looked at me "Your questions have the same answer. I have been distant becouse I haven't told anyone yet that I found my mate. " I looked at him shocked "the girl your going to see, Melony, she is my mate. I want to go so I can see her again." he pulled out of the driveway "so Melony is your mate eh?" he looked at me "Say anything and you will hate the day you were born." I crossed my heart. He drove to the library and we walked inside. I texted her "Hey you here yet?" she responded "Yup at the desks". I walked up to her
as she said " Hey. Let's just get this over with so I can go home before it gets to late" I looked at her. I started to respond "Uh ok. This is my brother C-" but she cut me off " I know who he is in my english class. are you guys twins or something?" we looked at her "yeah. Cason is older by 3 minuets" I said.          "Ok. " she said before we started working. We worked for a while as Cason sat next to me. She looked at her phone " Crap. Be right back." she said. I looked at Cason "so that's your mate. She seems kind of well rude or stressed like she doesnt have enough time for anything. Just do not start trying to 'relieve some stress' with her soon." he hit me on my head "get your mind out of the gutter." I joked with him for a few more minuets. She returned and sat down "That was my aunt making sure I'm ok" she said. " Ok. Don't you have parents tho or are you just living with your aunt? " Cason replied "I uh lost my parents when I was 9. I live with my aunt Kelly. What about you why did you say definatly not my house? ".We looked at her and she said "I didn't mean to pry-" I can tell Cason is infatuated with her "he said that becouse things are well um chaotic at our house right now. " Cason said. "Ok. " she said then we continued on with the work. We worked on the project and notes for about an hour before a lady who looked kind of like Melony walked over to the desks. Melony looked at her "Hey, Aunt Kelly. " the lady who appears to be her aunt looks like she might be in her early 40s maybe later 30s. "Hi, sweety. You didn't tell me you were studying with boys. Especially two cute boys. Is this that Cason boy you-" Melony cut her off as she turned bright red "Aunt Kelly! Yes this is Cason and his twin and can we leave? " she seemed embarrassed. We smirked "Alrighty I guess we should leave. " she looked at us as we said our goodbyes and they walked outside. Cason and I packed up when Cason saw her phone "Hey, Jason. Melony left her phone." I looked at him as I started to make fun of him "Don't  you mean Meeellllooonny as in 'Oh my sweet Melony be my mate and provide me with heirs' she obviously likes you" for the first time I have seen he blushed. He picked up her phone and put in his pocket. We left the library and he drove us home. We walked inside and headed upstairs. I went to my room, Cason's room is next to mine and our bathroom's are one wall away. I took a shower then got dressed as I heard Cason turn on his shower and he started singing in the shower. I have never heard him do that before. I laid my head down and fell asleep.
