I stood there it's like I froze my parents looked different they looked way too old
"Are you okay Dr Maraj?" Dr Wilson asked
"Yeah I'm fine I'll see you a bit later"
I walked over to them
"What are y'all doing here?" I asked
"We came to see you honey" my mom said
"Don't call me that" I said
"Tanya please" my dad said
"Follow me" I said
We walked to my office we got in and they sat down my mom started crying
"It's been so many years Onika I'm so happy to see you" she said
"I wish I could say the same" I said
"I'm so proud of you Nika I never thought you would become so successful" my mom said
"Because I fell pregnant at the age of 16?" I asked
"How is your child doing? I'm sure she or he is grown now" my dad said
"I have twins" I said
"Oh wonderful double the blessings" my mom said
I sighed
"What do y'all want? I know y'all didn't come here to ask me how am I doing" I said annoyed
"I found out that I have cancer" my mom said
"So?" I asked
They both seemed shocked about my response
"We thought it was a good idea for us to reconcile before she dies" my dad said
"Okay we've reconciled, now what?" I asked
"I know you're mad at me for kicking you out but I was doing it for your own good" she said
"Mad? That's an understatement I hate you I can't even stand you" I said
"Onika!" My dad said
"No dad, y'all gon' sit here like nothing happened I'm your only child and you couldn't swallow your pride and accept that I made a mistake I'm also a human being" I said
"I know and I'm really sorry Onika our lives haven't been the same without you it has been depressing" my mom said crying
"My life has been great and you've taught me the biggest lesson in the most cruel way" I said

"Princess? That girl died a long time ago, you should've been a man and stand up for your only daughter but you let her wear the pants so this is how we're gonna do it y'all gon' turn around and you'll see a white rectangle shaped thing with a handle please use it wisely" I said
"You're kicking us out?" My mom asked
"Yes Carol I'm at work here I don't have time for small talk, excuse yourselves" I said
I took out my phone and texted the girls just to see if they are awake or still sleeping
