A/N: Wow, it's been a hot minute since I put an author's note at the start of a chapter, huh? I just wanted to make a note of the timeline. The previous chapter, "DM: Betty and Ned" did not happen right after Betty and MJ's conversation ended. Betty and Ned's conversation happened the night after Betty and MJ's conversation. This chapter occurs right after that.
star_wars_ned: So I kinda just messed up
peter_parker: What did you do?
star_wars_ned: So I was texting Betty and she asked if I'd met Spider-Man so I freaked out and said I had to go
star_wars_ned: But then I received her text explaining that she was asking since you've posted pictures of him
star_wars_ned: But I'd already told her I had to go so now the conversation's over
peter_parker: Okay so just talk to her tomorrow
peter_parker: No big deal
star_wars_ned: Except it is!
peter_parker: Why?
star_wars_ned: Because I want to talk to her! I enjoy having conversations with her!
peter_parker: Then text her back saying you actually don't have to go
star_wars_ned: Man, that'll be so awkward
peter_parker: Why are you analyzing this situation so much? You think of Betty as a friend, right? You'd never feel so torn if you were texting me, or at least I don't think you would, so I don't understand why you're acting like this with Betty.
star_wars_ned: I don't know why I care so much, I just know that I do.
peter_parker: Look bro, I want to help you, and I'm trying to, but I don't know what else there is for me to do. You can either do something about your situation and text her back or just keep feeling disappointed in yourself and telling me how disappointed you feel.
star_wars_ned: I think I'm just gonna go to bed now
peter_parker: Alright, hope you feel better about all this in the morning, and you can text Betty again without feeling awkward
