She opened her hands, and the note fell down,
She pulled of her coat and slid of her crown,
Her hands worked fast, at the rope in her bag,
She wasn't willing to climb down, but people had to understand,

She arranged the rope, into a ladder of sorts,
Snipped away the ends; to make it more short,
Her fingers were red and bleeding by the time she was finally done,
She tilted her head, and looked at the rising sun,

Where there had once been starry skies,
And the boy's honey eyes,
There lay a wasteland of blue,
And the girl didn't know what exactly to do,

You see, she'd never done this before,
She was so scared of being left; she never thought she'd close the door,
He did nothing wrong, and she knew it in her heart,
That she had to end what shouldn't have had a start,

So she let down the rope, and secured it into place,
She knew she would miss, seeing the love on his face,
But this had to be done, it was already so prolonged,
The boy needed to know, that by his side isn't where she belonged,

So she turned her back on the sun and sky,
And she shut her eyes and wished she could lie,
But she couldn't hurt the boy that way,
So she climbed down, all through the day,

It was pitch black, the stars the only pinpricks of light,
The girl huddled down, lost in the night,
And she closed her eyes and thought about the boy,
About the memories, the craze and laughter and smiles and all they enjoy,

And she wondered if this was the right path,
Cause in her head she could still hear his laugh,
And what about when he returned? From his detour in the sky, wearing the wings she had helped him don,
Only to find, that his girl was gone?

She looked up at the rope clutched in her hands,
And reminded herself that he'd probably understand,
But the fear ate away at her, constantly on her mind,
Was the boy she was leaving behind,

By the time morning came, she was at last on the ground,
She untied the rope and didn't make a sound,
She sat on the dirt and fell asleep,
And she didn't even notice when the boy rested his eyes on the girl he couldn't keep,

When she finally opened her eyes, and looked above,
She saw the boy, his eyes shining with love,
"What's wrong my dear sweet?"
"Why is this the place you've chosen us to meet?"

The girl stood up and dusted of her clothes,
Her eyes drifted above to the only home she'd ever known,
And the boy could already tell, things were going south,
And finally she spoke up, and these words left her mouth,

"I love you my prince, but we cannot be anymore,
Our time has run out, and now I shall lock the door,
Maybe in the future, we can reunite and hold each other's hands,
But for now I'm just hoping that you'll understand,"

And she turned away, her eyes full of tears,
She meant all she said, she was completely sincere,
And the question that would always, linger in her mind: what if?
And they stood side by side, staring up at their little cliff,

And he turned towards her and pulled her into a hug,
"I know things have gone quite badly,"
"But it'll all be okay, my dear imouto~ssi,"
And she hugged back and ignored his irresistible tug,
"This isn't a can't, hopefully in the future we can,"
"But it'll all be okay, my sweet onii~chan,"

After a moment of silence, this is what the girl said,
She needed him to know this, needed him to hear this in his head,
"I love you my boy, I love you so much,"
"I love you my boy, I live for your touch,"
"I love every part of you, your smiles and every sin,"
"My heart is a place, you'll always be in,"

The story of the girl and boy: another chapter they could never imagine.
