FLAME

She held her head so high that she became one with the stars,
She peeled off her gossamer silk skin, revealing scar after scar,
She clamped shut her mouth, with it slipping into her confinement, closing the door,
She squeezed out saccharine nectar from her eyelids, and caught them on her tongue, wanting more,
Always more,

Ear-splitting shrieks and the sound of auriferous angels singing erupted out of her mouth,
"Why do you do this to me!? Bring my life south?"
She beat her hands on the metal drums of her ribs,
"My life is plagued with terror from the crib!"
Straight from the crib,

She opened her eyes, pupiless and black,
Like the deep cavern of her soul, the light will never come back
She pulled her thighs apart and pinched the skin between her two fingers,
Wanting to cut some of with her scissors,
Sharpest of scissors,

She crept out along like a panther at night,
Onto the bridge, pushing away her fright,
The lilac sunrises were tattooed into her twin eyes,
Her gaping red maw opens, and spews out her lies,
Darkest of lies,

"God forgive me for I have sinned!"
My mind was full of armour, but the walls have thinned,
"Won't you help me? Don't punish me for this is the only escape."
The only way I'll never have to face another painful day,
Too many painful days,

She raised her hand and circled the twinkling blue lights with her fingertips,
As if she could pluck them out of the night sky, and kiss them to her lips,
She stared at the horizon with empty eyes, hungry so hungry,
To find that release that could set her free,
So amazingly free,

And her hand reached up and placed the circlet of stars upon her brow,
"My stars are my only peace, I shall become a part of you now."
She opened her arms and was swept into the trail of a comet, a tornado of sunray,
And her eyes were lit ablaze,
With passion not flame.
