Chapter 5

"I am dead" Jack finally spoke turning to face you with his light blue eyes staring deep into your soul

"What...?" You asked taking a step back

"I died y/n, I am more like a spirit than a human, why do you think you can't see me unless you believe?" Jack answered when you just stood there silent

"Then what about.." You trailed off

"Santa Claus? The tooth fairy? Sandman? And the easter bunny? Yeah we are all dead" Jack spoke causing you to take another step back

"You don't have to say it like that.." You said softly

"It's the only way you can say it.." Jack replied

"If you don't mind me asking... How-"

"How did I die?" Jack spoke staring back up at you making you flinch

"I didn't mean to upset you, y..you don't have to-"

"It's fine.. I was going to tell you anyways..Jamie knows" he replied

"Follow me" He continued walking furthur away from the group when you looked back and then followed

Jack went up to a tree and leaned against it

"I was 17 when I died.. Which is why I still look young" Jack started when you looked up at him

"Did you have the same hair color?" You asked

"No, I had brown hair and eyes" He answered

"Oh" you answered softly

"I had a family too.. Even a little sister.. One day we went out to the lake since it was frozen to play and after awhile it started cracking.." Jack said staring down at his feet in thought

"Oh i'm sorry" you said softly walking up to him

"My sister was scared and knowing me I always made the best in everything.. I did ended up saving her though.." Jack answered when you looked at him silently

"But then I fell in.." Jack said when his voice cracked

"And then I am here" he finally spoke breaking out of his thoughts looking up at you while you stood there silently staring back at him with tears in your eyes

"I'm..so..sorry" you said softly trying to hold back tears

"It's fine.. I rather take my own life then hers" he admitted

"You must have been scared" you replied

"I was, and when I came back.. I forgot my memory, but after I regained it, I went to find my family.. Which I did find them but.." Jack trailed off

"But they couldn't see you.." You finished when he closed his eyes and nodded

"Ever since then I've been longing for someone to notice me, see me or even talk to me" Jack continued

"And that's where Jamie comes in" Jack replied looking up at you

"He was the first one ever to see and believe in me..he even got his friends to believe in me" he continued

"Wow" you whispered when he nodded

"And a couple months later I met you" he finally said looking up at you with a smile

"Don't smile at me like that" you replied

"Why not?" He asked

"This isn't the time to be happy" you responded

"It is to me" he answered

"And why's that?" You asked

"Because now I have someone to talk to" he said when you started to cry

"But this isn't fair! I don't care if you have someone to talk to! It's the fact that you should have gotten your life back!" You shouted when he stared at you silently

"Y/n, you don't understand.." He said softly looking dead at you

"What don't I understand?!" You replied

"I died over 300 years ago" Jack answered when you froze

"Not only that I do have my life back, i'm here ain't I?" Jack replied

"this still isn't fair!" You shouted back crying even more when Jack held his arms out

"Come here, Snowflake" he said making you run to him and wrapped your arms around his waist when he hugged you tightly

"If I did have my normal life back I wouldn't be here to see you" Jack whispered when you gripped his jacket

"So not fair" you whispered back when he kissed you gently on your cheek making you shiver

"It is now"
