Jordan walked along the edge of the beach with Koko, since no one was around.
"What kind of adventure is this? I've never gone out like this before."
Jordan kicked sand as she walked. Koko looked somewhat.. annoyed.
"People everywhere are going to be looking for us. We have no way to protect ourselves. Well, I have no way to protect myself. You're practically made of armor."
Koko didn't react. Jordan stopped walking, but Koko kept on floating away.
"Koko."
It stopped but didn't look back.
"Are you called something different? Is it Tapu-Koko?"
"Koko chirped and looked over it's shoulder at Jordan, then the ground, then just turned back.
"You're conflicted. You don't want to stay here. This is the closest place that resembles where you're from, is that it? Listen to me, Tapu Koko!"
Jordan outstretched her arms and made the upside down triangle with her hands, and brought it to her chest right side up, copying the dance.
The finished it with the crossing of her arms, and kept it there, closing her eyes.
She could feel pulsing from the ground through her body.
When she opened her eyes, she was someplace different. This time, Koko was looking straight at Jordan.
The place looked just like an island setting. Koko flew up into the air above the water.
Sparkling lights started to appear. Lines of pink, purple, and red.
Shapes started to appear next to Koko. They turned into different creatures that looked like Koko.
"Fini!"
"Buluu."
"Lele!"
-
"Kokoo!"
Jordan woke up under a tree, by Koko's chirping.
Jordan sat up, and breathed.
"That place.. it seemed brighter than here."
Jordan started to stand up, and picked up the Paraglide.
"I want to be able to see it too."
"Kokoo!"
Koko chirped and seemed happy.
"Let's go get this glider set up, before everyone starts coming on the beach!"
Sophie laid out the glider, and with the instructions she buckled herself in.
With an extra rope, she tied one end to the front of her straps, holding the other end.
She ran against the wind and was swept up, she dropped the rope which Koko caught the end, and started flying.
Jordan grabbed onto the handles above her shoulders and kept it steady.
"Let's go, Koko!"
Koko chirped loudly and flew fast. They were suddenly flying across the land, at an incredible speed.
Jordan carefully pulled out her phone, setting a course for Nevada.
"Area 51, here we come!" She said to herself. The wind blew her hair behind her. She could see around for miles.
"Is this what an adventure is like?" Jordan yelled to Koko.
Koko looked back at Jordan. "I want to feel like this all the time!"
Koko closed itself and increased its speed.
-
Jordan checked where they were.
They made it to the edge of Nevada by nightfall.
They landed in an open field, and wandered North until they found an old train car.
"We can stay here tonight. Our backs are protected and nothing can surprise us." She said. Koko flew around it curiously.
"I think we're close to Las Vegas, which means anyone dangerous has the possibility of coming by. We better hide ourselves well."
Koko situated itself on a tree branch well hidden from view.
"I guess I'm using the car."
-
Jordan fell asleep on the paraglide. She was dreaming about something, she wasn't sure what it was. The light was too bright and she was too tired to see properly.
The lights dimmed and she was suddenly standing on splintering wood, and in front of her was a tall balcony with stairs on either side. There was some kind of stone and flora placed in the middle.
She climbed the stairs. She reached out to touch the stone, and her fingers barely grazed it when she heard Koko's chirping behind her.
There was an entrance to the cave, and there was a person there. She couldn't see them because of the light from the outside. She was going to walk to them but a sudden darkness took over.
Jordan woke up, hearing some kind of yelling. She laid for a second until she realized it could be Koko. Before she got out of the car the ground turned a bright yellow, and she could see clearly.
She wiped her face with her sleeve and turned to see people in military uniform trying to catch Koko with some kind of device, shot out with some kind of gun. Jordan wasn't thinking and jumped onto one of the men's backs. She grabbed the gun and pushed him to the side, throwing the gun behind her.
"Koko!"
Jordan was grabbed from behind and picked up. She kicked and elbowed at the person behind her.
"Stop it, let us go!" Jordan yelled.
Koko was hit by a device shot from the gun, and fainted.
Jordan fought with the person holding her until another man came and put a cloth over her mouth, and soon she was fainted too.
-
Jordan woke up on a chair, not tied down or anything. Just on a chair. She tried to stand up but couldn't feel her legs.
"Don't try to stand up, you won't be able to until the drug wears off."
"Who are you? Where's Koko?" Jordan said.
"We're waiting to open something special, and the thing you call Koko is going to help us achieve that."
"I'm asking you a question. Where is Koko?"
