The sound of your smartphone's alarm clock went off at precisely 11 o'clock at night; a time that you had set to fit with your new nightly job at the pizzeria.

After you tapped the alarm clock off, you dragged yourself out of your warm covers with a heavy groan.

It was so cold tonight, so chilly that your whole body trembled as you stumbled in a daze to brush your teeth in the bathroom. You had worn shorts to bed, so your legs pebbled with prickly goosebumps almost instantly once exposed to the cool air.

As you brushed your teeth absentmindedly, you allowed your mind to wander.

How would the animatronics be like? What was so different about them that would result in them needing supervision overnight? Were they just that high quality that they would need to be... protected?

And how well kept was the pizzeria? You knew that the pizzeria had been around for a while, having been opened back in 1980, by a man who went by the nickname 'Pops.' You didn't know what the man's real name was, but you knew that Pops was quite a well-liked man around town.

...well-liked, yet mysterious. Not much was known about him, and it certainly didn't help that he rarely spoke of personal things regarding him and his past; Pops instead opted to speak of his animatronics: his prized creations.

And speaking of those animatronics...

You hadn't really paid attention to them before, as... past experiences as a child had really... stained your view on those robotic creatures, which was a whole other story, but Pops' animatronics were different.

They were humanoid robots, and they were all... so incredibly well made from what you had seen from a casual google search after you hung up with the call with Mr. Sarcastic.

There was four animatronics, all male with cutesy animal ears on their head.

First, the bear animatronic — the main one — Hari Kurono. Thin, pale silver arrows as hair was what really set him apart from others; there was no other animatronic quite like him. Kurono also had striking dark eyes, and a sharp jawline that seemed able to cut paper.

And to top it off, Kurono had brown bear ears that peeked up from his silver hair; making him look a little more adorable and less intimidatingly hot. A microphone was also paired with him, along with a black suit and bow tie that fit snugly under his chin.

Kurono was the most popular animatronic from what you had seen from online reviews, but that didn't mean that all the rest of the other animatronics slacked in quality and design.

Next, Shin Nemoto. Half bunny, half-human. You were convinced from the things you read online about him that he had a small, purple cotton ball bunny tail. You'd be sure to find out once you got to the pizzeria.

Of course, Nemoto also had purple bunny ears. They flopped over his well-styled blonde hair, which was complimented his light purple eyes greatly. He too, like Kurono, had a bow tie — though it was a deep red  — just like his trusty electric guitar.

Those two were part of the trio on stage, and Toya Setsuno was the last one to complete the main line up.

With large blue eyes and a shy, hesitant smile on his face, Setsuno was by far the cutest animatronic. He was supposed to be designed after a bird of sorts, and as a result, he had a tuft of blonde fluff on his head, in the midst of his silky blonde hair. On his shoulder sat a black bird plushie; Mimic.

The plush was known for having a particularly nasty temper programmed for it, which led Mimic being deactivated most of the time; quiet and stagnant on Setsuno's shoulder.

The main line up was excellent, and they all had their own sort of... uniqueness to them, but you certainly couldn't forget about the one in Pirate's Cove: Kendo Rappa.

He was a larger animatronic than most, with the outer layer of his 'skin' torn; showing the metal beams and wires inside of him. Unlike the other animatronics, Rappa had a mask design to him: of a large bird's.

Most of the time, it seemed that Rappa was out of order; kept out of sight and shoved in the back of Pirate's Cove. According to online reports, the last time he performed was five years ago.

...if you were Rappa, you'd probably be pretty upset with being put out of work for so long, while all your other, in tip-top-shape buddies got to perform. Ah, but then again, here was the crucial part:

Animatronics weren't alive, and they definitely couldn't feel emotions. That scrap of metal could probably care less.

After a couple of minutes, you finally finished brushing. When all the froth from the toothpaste had disappeared into the drain, you peeked at the clock on your wall.

11:10.

Great, lots of time to spare.

As you settled down in bed, phone in hand, you wondered how the job would be like.
