Aleksei was one of the best recruits on his division so he was assigned at Minsk, one of the most deadliest battle in the invasion. He and his crew destroyed 12 tanks on the first month of the battle. The battle was a big win for the Soviets, because the Americans and NATO lost 11,000 tanks and 2,500 aircrafts meanwhile the USSR only lost half of them. After the battle, Aleksei and his tank crew was promoted and assigned to the battle of Kiev.
