"Kageyama! Look, its still snowing!" Hinata cried, having jumped up to look out the window at the white flakes that had started falling at least three hours before their practice had started.
"Dumbass, pay attention!" Kageyama yelled, even though he was glad to see the red-head so happy. They'd been practicing hard for the inter-high pre-lims that were creeping up on them.
The third years had left, and they'd trained the first years that had joined their team when they had time, Daichi and Suga had moved in together since they were going to the same college, and they often visited the team just to make sure they hadn't killed each other yet. (Suga was more of a mom than ever and he was starting to rub off on Yamaguchi, who was happy for the advice.)
Asahi had already gotten a job and was pretty much coaching them in his free time. Ukai and Takeda were still the coach and their advisor, but Asahi was still there to help their newer wing-spikers, which was a great help since he was Karasuno's former ace.
Ennoshita had taken over as captain, and they all had the feeling that Yamaguchi was going to take over when they were third years, though Tsukishima seemed less than thrilled about taking orders from him boyfriend and smaller best friend, but at least his saltiness levels hadn't changed.
"You guys can leave, we've pretty much run the first years ragged, and we only have five minutes left, we'll clean up, make sure you guys get home okay, alright?" Ennoshita said.
"Of course, Captain," they both said, then helped everyone else clean up before grabbing their stuff and heading out.
"Kageyama, hurry up! I wanna build a snowman!" Hinata whined.
"Dumbass, there isn't enough snow for that yet," Kageyama reminded him, watching as his best friend dancing around on the side walk on their way home, a small smile spreading across his face as Hinata laughed and giggled and just looked so happy.
"Kageyama? Are you . . . smiling?" Hinata asked, giving his taller setter a big smile.
"Maybe," Kageyama mumbled, not realizing that he'd been smiling at Hinata's childish antics.
"I like when you smile, you should so it more often," Hinata asked, continuing to skip down the sidewalk.
Kageyama nearly blushed, then followed after Hinata, smiling when the middle-blocker managed to slide down the sidewalk to his driveway.
"You're coming over tonight right? My little sister's been asking when you're going to stop by," Hinata said, looking over his shoulder to look at Kageyama.
"Yeah, I have my stuff in my bag." He didn't let the fact that he wanted Hinata to want him around show as they walked into Hinata's home, letting out a loud chuckle when Natsu, Hinata's younger sister launched herself down the hallway right into Kageyama's arms.
"Hey Natsu, don't hurt anyone, he'll be back, it's not like this is the last time you'll ever see him in the house," Hinata chuckled from where he was taking his shoes off.
"But I like him!" she whined.
Natsu reminded Kageyama of a female, mini, Hinata, all smiles and sunshine.
"I do too, but if you hurt him, he won't want to come around anymore, so you have to be careful," Hinata told her when she moved her head enough to see her older brother.
"Okay, I'm sorry Yama," she murmured.
"It's okay, but your brother is right, you don't want to hurt yourself do you?" Kageyama asked.
"No," she admitted, a small blush taking over her delicate features.
"Okay then," both boys said at the same time, giving each other a knowing look.
