If I took a double dose

Of Acetaminophen

I wonder what

Would happen to me.

Would the world start to go by more slowly?

Would I finally feel relaxed?

Could I close my eyes

And let the world around me turn black?

If I took a double dose

Of Acetaminophen

I wonder what

Would happen to those around me

Would their faces turn solemn

Would they shed any tear

Could they go on

With their lives just like before?

I feel my importance is none

I'm just an acquaintance never a friend,

A distance yawning

Between my parents and me

Always a distance

Never calm, comfortable speech

Always rushed

Get it out before I'm shut up.

But if I took a double dose

Of Acetaminophen

I wonder at all the things I'd miss

And the things that would never be
